I was sleeping peacefully in the cabin with the movement of the waves that I loved so much when an explosion sound made me open my eyes, a cannon ball hits the ship, - all on deck - can be heard in the distance. I ran to the main deck of the ship and took a telescope to see who dared to attack us, when I looked at the name of the ship all I could think was "found us."

BEFORE TIME

Bathed in sweat, I went up to my house, which was a bit far from the center of the island, I was getting tired of all the bags that I carried with food. My mother was sick, she was the one who took care of everything, but now I had to go weekly and bring what was necessary to be able to make her soups that she liked so much. When I finally have the house in front of me I see that the door is smashed and my dog is barking like crazy, I run inside and see everything on the floor, "MOTHER!" I kept screaming, begging him to answer me, but not a single bird sang, I see a freshly thrown cigarette at the back exit of my house, there you can see everything. In the background, in the sea, a ship, a black flag and a small boat approaching ... my mother was inside that boat along with several men "MOTHER!" Going down the hill I kept calling his name, but he lived quite far away and when I got to the coast the boat had already been mounted, the sails raised and a black flag.... my mother had been kidnapped by pirates. Before the ship disappeared on the horizon I could see its name, that name that I would not get until I found it again "Star of Fire".

Part of the town had reached the coast, my mother had been a teacher before and she helped many people who did not have money to read and write, so she gained the appreciation of the people.

- My boy, my boy! What is it, why so much screaming? And your mother? - Gloria asked me worriedly.

- Gloria took her, they took my mother- I managed to answer.

- OMG! It can't be... who would dare hurt Doña Martha?

- Tell us who it was, where they took her, we and the whole town will help you- said one of the villagers.

"It was a ship, a pirate ship," I replied.

- PIRATES ?! They hadn't come for these waters for a long time- Gloria said.

-: It has to be someone who knows the area, these waters have many reefs and it is difficult to pass over them, could you see the name of the ship? - asked the villager.

- Yes, Star of Fire- I answered.

- IMPOSSIBLE- Gloria answered, surprised by my answer.

"It can't be, that ship belongs to the Longbeard Pirate ... We all thought it was dead," the villager commented.

- Who is he? - I asked somewhat confused.

- Let's not talk about it now- Gloria said taking me by the arm- come my boy let's go to the tavern.

Before going to the tavern I went to my house and Gloria helped me pick up all the mess, if my mother were here she would have a heart attack from all the disorder. When I was picking up I could see that my mother's medicines had been taken so I could be sure it would not get worse. In the town tavern everyone was nervous and they came to give me their full support. Gloria, who was the owner, stood on the bar and shut everyone up, extended her hand to me, and so together with her we could explain what had happened.

Several men and women of the town gave me their support, but we did not have that experience to face pirates. There were blacksmiths, farmers, farmers, people who fought with furs, but with no sailing experience. Outside of our town, much farther from my home, lived a person who could help us, an ex-navigator who had fought in the war, if I could convince him I would have a great help, so I didn't think twice and decided to go looking for him. That night I spent in the tavern where they gave me food and a roof while we planned, but we needed that man to make it possible. The next morning I left with my dog Luca, bringing that man to town and leaving would not be easy, but I had to do it, for my mother.

- Let's go Luca, let's start this journey- I told my faithful companion.
