Episode 8

Semblance troubles

Pyrrha and Hawk stood inside the kitchen, washing up some dishes after Ren and Hawk cooked up some pancakes for the two teams.

Hawk: "Thanks again Pyrrha, you didn't have to volunteer to help."

Pyrrha: "You're welcome Hawk. I'm happy to help."

Nora: "Hey Pyrrha!"

Pyrrha let out a suprised yell, jumping on the spot which caused her semblance to go out of control. Nora yelled in fright as she suddenly obtained a magnetic field around her, which caused every metal pan to latch to her. These were quickly followed by the fridge, and the oven, and even Hawk as he was pulled off his feet by the sword at his waist. Pyrrha gasped at what had happened, guiltily looking at the two.

Pyrrha: "I'm sorry!"

A few days later, Jaune had decided to plan out a team bonding adventure. So there they were, Nora leading the pack fuelled by her excitement while the others followed after her.

Nora: "We're going on a hike! We're going on a hike! Today's the day, hip-hip hooray! We're going on a hike! Whoo!"

Nora sped off, practically running laps around the other three. Ren and Jaune stopped for a moment, both feeling exhausted.

Ren: "It's been hours and we haven't made it out of Beacon."

Jaune: "Hey, don't look at me! This stupid compass must be broken! It's leading us in circles. See!? Now it's telling me north is back that way!"

Jaune held up the malfunctioning compass to Ren, before glaring down as his arm followed where the compass needle pointed. Ren quickly noticed that the needle and Jaune's arm seemed to follow Pyrrha as she walked past them, then stopped to look at the two.

Ren: "Uh, Jaune?"

Jaune glanced up from the compass, his eyes widening as he and Pyrrha realized the same thing.

Jaune: "Oh."

Pyrrha: "Oh. I'm sorry!"

The next day, Pyrrha was frustrated that her semblance was temporarily out of control. She was inside her team's room, practicing her control on her semblance by having her spear hover in front of her. Suddenly, Jaune had opened the door.

Jaune: "Hey Pyrrha!"

With another surprised yell, her spear flew through the air and stabbed into the light of the room. It briefly flickered but stayed on.

Jaune: "Ren found this old stack of VHS tapes! You wanna help sort them and see what's on them?!"

Pyrrha let out a sad sigh, feeling awkward about the situation. Fully aware of what would happen if she touched one of the tapes.

Pyrrha: "Um..."

Spring: "Pyrrha! There you are!"

Hawk's youngest sister burst into the room, giving a playful glare at Pyrrha as she marched in and grabbed Pyrrha's hands.

Spring: "What are you doing?! We're going to be late!"

Before anyone could ask a question, Spring pulled Pyrrha out of the room, giggling in excitement as she did.

Spring practically dragged Pyrrha by her arm, running down the halls of Beacon.

Pyrrha: "S-Spring, where are we going?"

Spring giggled excitedly, turning another corner and leading the way towards the training room. Hawk and the eldest amongst the four sisters, Winter, stood at the entrance.
