Chapter 5: Favorites

Sakura was reviewing some of her patient's files while on break when he saw Sasuke coming from her office window.

"Sasuke-kun?" she asked with a surprise face.

Sasuke didn't answer her, he just stared at the office door until it opened.

"Sakura-chan! Why didn't you wake me up early dattebayo!" Naruto screamed and pout his lips like a child.

He was carrying a huge bag and put it on Sakura's table. Behind him was Team Morio who greeted the couple.

"You were sleeping like a corpse!" Sasuke answered instead.

"What is this big bag?" Sakura asked Naruto with a curious face.

"Oh yeah!" Naruto shouted and opened the bag. "Tada!"

"What are these?" Sakura asked while looking inside the bag. The three genins run towards the table to check what's inside the bag while Sasuke remained standing near the window but was glancing at the bag.

"Gifts from our friends and your family!" Naruto smiled broadly and started to unpack the bag. He picked up an apple jam in a jar and an Umeboshi (Dried Plum) from the bag. There is a note paste on one of the jars.

"These are from your mother!" Naruto handed the jars to Sakura.

Sakura took them and read the note, "Take care of yourself, Don't worry about us. Papa and I miss you so much. I love you! -Mama"

Sakura bit her lips to avoid crying. Naruto knew she is about to cry so he tried to distract her by giving the next gift which was from Sai. A magazine about beauty and wellness. There is also a note from Sai.
"Hope this would make you look less ugly. PS. Page 26 is about how to have big breasts." -Sai.
Sakura tossed the magazine at the window and was shaking with anger. "I'm gonna kill him!" She cried while forgetting that she was about to cry awhile ago.

Naruto started to get scared thinking Sakura might put her anger towards him so he distracted her again. "Hey, here! Ino sent you your favorite brand of shampoo, Lee sent you a limited edition of dumbbells... he said you were waiting for this to be released! Choji sent you your favorite potato chips from Konoha... bla bla bla! Naruto keeps on talking and taking out all of the gifts from Konoha in his bag as if it's a magic bag that never goes out of stuff.

"Lady Sakura can we also try some of your food from Konoha? Can we please have some?" Koishi asked timidly.

Sakura smiled at them and handed them a big bag of potato chips which can only be bought from Konoha, "Sure! Try this one! It' my favorite!"

"Yay!" The three genins cried and opened the bag of chips.

"Amazing!" They cried after tasting the potato chips.

"No wonder why this is your favorite Lady Sakura!" Furinto cried. And took the bag of chips from Yuru.

"Hey!" Yuru and Koishi cried.

Furinto runs away with the bag. "Hey, you greedy Furinto give that back to us! Koishi cried. They started to chase Furinto and left Team 7 in Sakura's office.

"Favourite..." Sasuke whispered to himself. "I don't know her favorites but she knows mine. I am her husband but I don't know her favorite but her friends do..." His thoughts were suddenly interrupted when he heard Sakura talk.

"Thank you for bringing all of these with you Naruto! As a reward, I will cook dinner today using the herbs and spices you brought from Konoha!" Sakura smiled broadly to him.

"Yay! I miss Sakura-chan's cooking- dattebayo!" Naruto claps his hands merrily.

The sun was down and the pale crescent moon shines like a claw in the night sky.
It was a peaceful night but there was tension in the dining area of the lodge where Sasuke and Sakura are staying in.

Naruto and Sasuke were gobbling their dinner like they hadn't eaten for days while intensely looking at each other.

"Rice please!" Both shouted.

Sakura looks really annoyed, "What's wrong with these two? Why are they acting as if they are still 12 years old?" She was whispering to her self as she checks the bowl of rice.

"There's only one scoop left." Sakura said with a slight worry in her tone.

"Give it to me!" Both cried.

Sakura really started to get annoyed and wished Kakashi was there to help her with her two teammates.

"Give it to me Sakura-chan! You know that your tonkatsu is my favorite! And besides, I am your visitor and your best friend! A great ninja like me should be rewarded with Sakura-chan's special menu! This teme is nothing but a loser so no rice for him!" Naruto cried! He was grinning like a child.

"You are nothing but an idiot and a loser. Sakura give the rice to me!" Sasuke shouted with a command in his tone.

Sakura grips her hand to keep herself from poking the two gentlemen's heads. She breathes heavily and said, " I will take the last scoop because it is I who deserves a reward after hard work and dealing with you two jerks!" She took the rice and put it in her bowl.

Sasuke and Naruto look at each other sharply.

They sat silently for a few minutes while waiting for Sakura to finish her meal.

Sakura silently eats her food trying to compose herself while Naruto took a glass of water and drank from it.

"Sakura and I got married. She is my wife now." Sasuke blurted.

Naruto and Sakura both spill the food in their mouth after hearing what Sasuke just said.

Naruto looked so confused, his blue eyes went from Sasuke to Sakura and asked, "What is this teme talking about? Is he trying to be a clown now?"

Sakura was looking at Sasuke with disbelief. They agreed and promise not to tell anyone about their marriage not until they finish their mission but Sasuke just revealed their secret. She felt betrayed.

Sasuke wasn't looking at her nor at Naruto. He has his usual stoic grim expression on his face.

Sakura clench her fist and breath deeply, "It's true Naruto. We got married secretly a few weeks ago."

Naruto was confused. He doesn't know whether to feel happy or scared for his best-friends.

"Yo-you see, I just took my monthly assessment for being a jonin prior to arriving here, and in my reviews, I think I read somewhere there that it's forbidden for two shinobis to get intimate or married while on duty. It's punishable by expulsion..."

"We know that Naruto, that is why we tried to keep it as a SECRET!" Sakura said. She stood from sitting and walked away with heavy footsteps.

"I'll take a rest now. Goodnight!" She left the two men in the dining room, who were both in silence.
