Gohan planted his feet firm on the rocky ground of the canyon that surrounded him. He breathed in, deeply anticipating the last battle that was ahead. Sweat and a little bit of blood ran down his face. His gi was all torn up. He exhaled.

In the distance, Gohan saw Piccolo powering up.

"Now for the real show to begin," Gohan remarked to himself. He tapped into his mystic ki as Piccolo flew off like a speeding bullet. As the Namekian closed the distance, the canyon began to shine brightly from Gohan's energy.

Inches away, Piccolo threw a right hook that Gohan dodged with grace. Their eyes locked onto each other even if for a split-second until Gohan counterattacked with a blow to the stomach. The gut-punch was followed by a swift kick to the head. The force was so great that it hurled the dazed Namekian into the side of a plateau, causing much of it to crumble.

Gohan flew to the site of the collapse, but Piccolo suddenly rose up from the rubble and soared to the sky. The half-Saiyan smirked. Piccolo fired a Masenko wave so great that one could see the energy spawn for miles. Gohan evaded the wave milliseconds before it made contact.

As Gohan made a speedy approach into the sky in retailiation, Piccolo swiftly threw out a kick that Gohan, in equal speed, blocked. Soon after, the two continuously traded blows with each other at lightning speeds.

The shockwaves erupted the surrounding landscape, causing much of the wildlife as well as a few sightseers to flee the turbulent area.

With every strike and jab, the winner of the fight became more and more clear. Gohan was not letting up while Piccolo steadily grew exhausted. Once fatigue fully clamped down its claws on the Namekian, Gohan wrapped his arm around Piccolo's neck in a tight fashion.

"You ready to tap out, buddy?" Gohan asked.

No, he was not. Gohan's guard was only partially down, but that's all that Piccolo needed to get out of the headlock. His eyes glowed and then they shot out Eye Laser blasts at Gohan; point blank range.

The surprise ki blasts launched the half-Saiyan down to the ground, leaving a large cloud of dust.

Piccolo slowly descended to the ground while catching his breath. As he walked toward the dissipating dust cloud, he said, "You've made outstanding progress, Gohan. At your best, I am in no way a match for you."

Gohan sat up from the crash and gave a few coughs from the dust. Piccolo lent a hand. "But even I can still turn the tables of a fight, from just a moment of distraction."

Gohan took the hand and got up. Dusting himself off, he replied, "Yeah, I get it. Never go off-guard."

"Never."

"Well, thanks for the sparring session, Piccolo!"

"Be sure you tell Videl and Pan I said 'hi'."

"Will do."

▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁

Gohan flew through the glistening skies, feeling the rushing wind blow through his hair and face. He had changed into more formal wear during his flight. A suit and tie as well as dress pants. He cleaned up well.

As he flew home, Gohan carried a pink box full of doughnuts for Videl to enjoy... mostly. He helped himself to one double chocolate doughnut on the way. Who wouldn't?

Touching down at his house, Gohan knocked on the door.

"Hey, honey!" he announced. "I'm back and I brought donuts. Piccolo says hello."
