"Kageyamaaaa! Give me a toss! Give me a toss," Hinata yelled. The time was 2:40, when their volleyball practice began. [A/N: lol I dont actually know when their afternoon practice starts so forgive me pls]. Kageyama turned around to face the small spiker. Anticipation gleaming in the ginger's warm chocolate brown eyes, Kageyama replied with a nod. The rest of the practice went on smoothly, the other club members arriving shortly after. The freak duo were doing especially well today. Hinata didn't miss a single ball and all of his spikes seemed harder than usual.

Yachi tossed the ball to Kageyama who then felt it brush his fingertips. Almost flick it with your fingers. You should hear the pat of your fingernails touching the ball. Don't slap it. You want to elevate it with little to no spin. His grandfather's words came into his head. Just do it like you did with grandpa. He did exactly that. He could feel it even before the ball left his fingernails. It was the perfect toss. He could imagine Hinata jumping and spiking the ball into the floor. Where was the highest point of contact?....there! The toss was fast and accurate, hitting the exact spot Kageyama needed it to, and then spinning in place in the air almost as if there were an invisible person holding it in place.

And then Hinata was there. He spiked it into the floor and a chorus of "Yoshaa!"'s rang out through the large gym. In Kageyama's mind, all he could see was Hinata outstretched in the air, preparing to spike. He almost had the wings of a crow, stretching magnificently behind him. Alone, neither could do anything. But together, they were invincible.

Unlike at Kitagawa Daiichi, there was someone there. The first time Hinata had ever hit one of his tosses, he knew it indefinitely. He was in love with Hinata Shouyou. Hinata was always there for him when others weren't. When he was setting, when he walked home, and when his grandfather died. He was always there. His smiling face, fluffy orange hair, and warm eyes were always there.

He snapped out of his daze when he felt something small and happy on his back. Hinata had jumped on him. "Sugehhh!! That toss was so awesome! It went like WHOOSH and then it stopped in midair!! And then I hit it, and it went BAM!" Kageyama, still staggering from the sudden weight thrown on him, threw Hinata off of him, and Hinata's head hit the floor with a thud. "Hinata boke! What do you think you're doing?" Blushing slightly at the fact that his crush jumped on his back, he didn't notice that Hinata hadn't gotten up. Looking at the boy on the floor, he started getting more and more worried. He still wasnt getting up. "O-oi. Boke. This isn't funny. Get up." Hinata still lay there, unmoving. It was weird to see someone who usually never stopped moving and never shut up being quiet and still. It was unnatural.

Soon, the other teammates snapped out of their celebration when they saw Shouyou on the ground, looking like he was peacefully sleeping. They started running towards him and telling Kageyama to get the nurse, but Kageyama couldn't hear anything.

He was in a state of shock. This is my fault. I...I tossed him. I hurt him. It's my fault. My fault...my fault...my fault... The words echoed in his head. Everyone was still shouting at him to get the nurse, when Suga said something to Daichi. Daichi went up, probably to get the nurse. Kageyama snapped out of it when he felt a familiar arm around his shoulder. It was Suga.

"Hey. I'm going to need you to calm down, okay?" Kageyama tried his best to nod, but he could barely move. Instead he just started breathing deep breaths. In...out. In...out. Suga noticed what he was doing and started doing the same. "You're okay. You're okay." After Kageyama had calmed down, Suga had helped him back up. By then, Hinata was already awake and surrounded by the nurse and the rest of the Karasuno team. Still worried about his kouhai, Suga had his arm around Kageyama's shoulder.
