Hinata found himself in a small, white room. He looked around in his clean, stark-white jumpsuit, looking for a way out. There were no doors, nor no windows. There was only a rope leading up. He squinted his eyes to try to see the end, but couldn't find it. The top just went up endlessly. However, he felt something pulling him towards the top. He felt a need to get up there. So he climbed, having nothing better to do. Soon, he lost track of the time. The same mindless task of putting ome hand above the other, the white walls never changing. His hands were raw from the roughly woven rope. After a while of climbing, he came across a predicament.

There were now thorns adorning the rope. He poked one with his finger, and felt a stinging pain. They were sharp. But the tug felt even stronger. He could hear people talking but it was as if he was underwater. It sounded like...Kageyama? And Sugawara? And Noya? Concentrating, he realized that it was the whole Karasuno team he was hearing. He had to keep climbing. For them. Onward he went. The pain was great, and after a few hours of climbing, his hands weren't even hands. The blood ran down his arms and splattered onto his once-white shirt, spilling down his front. But he kept going. Soon, the end was in sight. It was Kageyama holding out his hand, reaching for Hinata. Hinata reached out, desperately trying to grab his hand. Their hands met...but Hinata's hands were too ruined to hold on. So he fell. He fell all the way back down. Right before he hit the ground, he jolted awake.

"Kageyama?" He said. Looking around, he was confused. What happened to the white room? The rope? He saw Kageyama and tried to get out of bed. He didn't even notice the rest of Karasuno. He only saw Kageyama. He realized they were there when he felt numerous hands pinning him down, restraining him. He stopped resisting. "Sorry." Evryone just responded with a hug. They all pulled together and hugged. Everyone was crying, except Tsukkishima,  who just had his hand on Hinata's back. Tsukkishima didn't hug people. "Glad you're back shrimpy." At Tsukkishima's welcome, the Karasuno team said theirs to him too. "I'm so glad you're safe! We were bad senpais for not being there! We're sorry!" Soon, a chorus of sorries rang through the room.

Hinata awkwardly shook his head. "You have nothing to be sorry for."  He turned around to see Kageyama, hugging Hinata from behind. Hinata turned around and hugged him back. Once he felt Kageyama's arms wrapped around him, his face contorted, and again he tried no to cry. Gripping onto Kageyama's shirt, they stayed like that, the team staying silent, until Hinata went silent. Kageyama looked down, to see that Hinata was asleep. The team was shocked as Kageyama gently took Hinata and laid him on the bed. They'd never seen Kageyama be gentle before. Kageyama smiled, looking at the sleeping angel. "You guys can go now. Your parents are probably worried." Slowly, one by one, they said their goodbyes until only Suga was left. "Are you going to leave?" He asked. Kageyama shook his head. "I think I'll stay for a bit longer." Suga nodded, and then left.

Kageyama held the sleeping Hinata's hand. "Get better boke." He left.

"Hey you little slut. Come here." Hinata was panicking. Why was he back into he parking lot? Why was the man still there? ...where was Kageyama? "Kageyama?" The man smiled. "Are you looking for Tobio? Follow me, I'll show you where he is." Hinata scrambled up. "K-kageyama?' The man led him to the back room. Tobio Kageyama was lying on the floor, with his head detached from his body. Pale and cold, the still warm blood spread across the floor. Hinata tried to scream. He couldn't. He couldn't. He couldn't do anything. He couldn't scream, he couldn't move, he couldn't even cry. He just couldn't. The man smiled again. "Why don't we do the same to you now...let's get started."

Hinata's eyes flew open. He was panting heavily and covered in cold sweat. "Are you okay?" He heard a voice to his left say. "Y-yeah." It was Dr. Hairo. "Ok. You can be released today, but do not exercise and take the medicine I give you. Dr. Hairo handed Hinata a bottle of pills. "Don't forget to change your bandages, too." Hinata nodded. "Bye then!" He said. "Bye!" Hinata walked out of the doors, and hailed a taxi home. He flopped on his bed and pulled out his phone. Meanwhile...

Everyone that wasnt active was looking at someone else's screen. "Um...I don't know if it's just me, but does it seem like Hinata's a bit down?" Said Asahi timidly. [SAID DUMBLEDORE CALMLY] Everyone nodded. "We should leave him be. He's been through a lot lately." Kageyama looked down. "He sure has." They continued on with practice, but it wasn't the same without Hinata. There was a new guy, Ahano Fuji, who was filling Hinata's spot. He was huge, already 6'2, and only a first year. He was a middle blocker and spiker, and spiked with more power than even Oikawa. His recieves were spectacular too, and he was performing almost as well as Noya.

Kageyama didn't like it. To him it felt like the team was replacing Hinata. But only Hinata could fill the gap in his heart. The rest of the team adored Ahano, though. They were amazed by his skill and height, and doted on him even more than they did Hinata. "Sugehhh!! That was awesome Fuji!!" Exclaimed Noya and Tanaka. He smiled. "Thanks." The rest of the day passed by uneventfully, and the next day Hinata was at school.

He walked to school with his head down. He was having reoccurring dreams of that man. He was dead, but that didn't take away from the trauma. Also, not being able to play volleyball was terrible for him. It was the only way that he was useful to the team and Kageyama. Without volleyball, he was useless. Amd what if they replaced him? His thoughts were interrupted by a slap on his shoulder. It was Noya and Tanaka. "Hey Shouyou! Good to have you back." Hinata thought to himself, don't make others worry about you. You're happy, right? He smiled. "Yeah!" They opened the doors to the gym and everyone rushed over to greet Hinata. Their greetings faded into the background as Hinata's eyes locked with Ahano Fuji's. Ahano gave a smile not too different than the man's. Hinata felt a chill run down his spine. "Oh, that's right! Hinata Shouyou, Ahano Fuji. Ahano Fuji, Hinata Shouyou. Fuji's joined the team as a middle blocker and spiker, just like you! He's really good! He'll be a great addition to the team! Isn't that cool?" said Tanaka. Ahano Fuji's smile grew wider. "Y-yeah." Hinata sat down and watched the practice, his eyes never leaving Ahano. He realized that Ahano was good. Better than good. He was better than Hinata.

He could already see it, Kageyama setting to Ahano, Ahano being patted on the back as he made a good play, Ahano replacing Hinata. Without a word, Hinata left morning volleyball practice without a word. Everyone was so focused on Ahano that they didn't even notice until practice was over. But Hinata was already in class, waiting for it to start.

Throughout the whole lesson, he ignored the whispers and stares, probably about him being missing from school for four days. He tried especially hard to escape the glare of Kageyama, who sat three rows behind him. His gaze burned into Hinata's back. After the class was over, Hinata tried to go as fast as he could to his next class, which Kageyama wasn't in, but was stopped by Kageyama's hand on his shoulder. "Oi. Why'd you leave early?" Hinata shrugged. "I'm going to be late for class. Let me go." Reluctantly, Kageyama let go of Hinata and Hinata rushed off. Hinata was definitely not the same.
