"NO!" Diego jumped at Angelica's yell and rolled off his bed. He fell on the ground and groaned when his face hugged the hard, cold wooden floor. He quickly got up, ignoring the pain all over his body, and snapped his head to where Angelica was.
Night had fallen, and with Allison and Rosaleen resting, everyone else had called it a night and went to bed to gain their energy back.
Diego brought Angelica back to Vanya's room but she didn't want to be alone that night. Diego couldn't blame her, since she had seen some pretty scary stuff.
So, he had Luther bring Vanya's bed into his room.
Diego sat beside her and shook her. "Hey kiddo, wake up,"
Angelica's eyes snapped open and she let out a gasp. When she saw Diego above her and close to her face, she let out a scream, and on instinct, she accidentally punched him in the face.
Diego let out a curse and held his nose. He fell back and rolled off the bed. He got back up and glared at Angelica, "I was expecting to give a comfort hug, except I received a punch to the face. You are freakishly strong you little demon."
Angelica made a face, "Oops.. Sorry Diego, I got scared.."
"Yeah, no kidding."
Diego went to sit beside Angelica again and looked at her, "So, uh.." He wasn't sure on what to do. "So um, did you have a nightmare?"
Angelica nodded, frowning.
"What was it about?" Diego paused. "Wait, am I supposed to ask that or do I give you space? Like a five minute coffee break?"
Angelica giggled at Diego's attempt at comforting her, but then she turned serious. "In my dream, I was a girl that was like seventeen or something.. and she was watching her boyfriend die in her arms."
Diego blinked, "I didn't think nine year olds had dreams like that. I thought you'd have dreams of ponies and rainbows, and then unicorns that sneeze glitter."
Angelica gave him a weird look, "You have no clue how kids work, huh?"
"Well, I know some kids are nasty, and it just makes you wanna beat them up."
