Elis POV

The sound of the gunshot echoed, ears still ringing from it. Your heart gets accustomed to the sudden noise after a while. A pool of blood now encircled the man.

I saw life slowly leave his body through his half-open eyes. I move closer to the body.

"I'll take care of this" I assure Neil while tossing the keys to a room.
"You go get the bags from the car".

Neil takes my bag and walks to the car.

Now all I have to do is find a good place for this man.

I tiptoe to his feet, try not to get any blood on my shoes. Grabbing his legs, I try to drag his body, to the room he entered from. Looks more like a storage place.

A deserted motel is a perfect place to hide bodies.

"Argh if only this man wasn't this heavy" his body now leaving a trail of blood as I move it.
I cover the body with a carpet that was stained in blood earlier.

"There you go, sir".
I lock the storage room. Turning off the lights so we don't attract any attention.

I leave the reception. Neil had taken the money bags to the room.

Motel room 6

I knock the door. "Come In", he mutters.

"Looks like I chose the best room", I say pushing him aside as I check out the place.
"It isn't half bad as I expected", he praised.

It was big enough for two beds. No flashy decor. A chair and a small table.

Neil locks the door, closes the blinds, falls on the bed and shuts his eyes

I swiftly walk to the small bathroom. I felt nauseous. Flashes of the blood and the smell of it still fresh in my memory. Falling to my knees I puke in the toilet.

Its been so long, how am I not used to it even now?

I press the flush, as I move to wash the blood marks from my hands. Scrubbing my hands clean, digging through my nails for any residue. I splash some water on my face.

I stand there for a minute more. Looking at myself in the mirror, the water dripping like tears from my cheeks.

Neil had switched on the old television in the room. I could hear the muffled sound of it in here. I wipe myself with a towel, taking a deep breath, I walk back out.
