Neil Harper POV:

How do you describe a day of murderers who appear on national news? It's hurried mornings and late-night drives.

It was dark when the alarm on my phone went off. I managed to get some sleep last night.

I got up from the bed, went to wake El who was still sound asleep.
"El, wake up. We need to leave." I tap her shoulder.

"Ummm mmm okay," she says, still half asleep.

I go ahead to freshen up.

We have long hours of traveling, so I need to gather things before we hit the road.

When I got out, El was still asleep, mouth agape, drooling.
A vein pops on my forehead. I take a deep breath,

"EL HURRY. WAKE UP" I hollered while pulling her blanket off.
She jolts up.

"My god Neil. Can you calm down?" rubbing her eyes she yawns.

"El we can't stay here long. If you don't remember, we are on the run. So go get changed. We are leaving in 10 minutes"

"Ugh who made you in charge of the schedule?" she complains going to the bathroom.

It'll be a while before we can stop for breakfast.

I go to the vending machine near our room to get some snacks and drinks for the ride.

When I got back. Elis was packing the money stash into her bag. I toss her a protein bar, carry the bags to the car.

We leave before the cops find our whereabouts.

"Where are we headed to?", Elis asks
"We haven't got any leads from the convenient store guy"

"We're going to stay low for now." I decided.
"Being on national news isn't going to help us get any leads anyway"

"But we are wasting crucial time", Elis argues"We can't just wait for cops to stop looking for us

"But we are wasting crucial time", Elis argues
"We can't just wait for cops to stop looking for us."

"We've no other choice." I strain
"Making reckless moves right now will only create more problems"

I understand where Elis is coming from. Even I don't want to sit idly while the leads slip through our hands. But for now, we have to wait.

"I know a place where we can get some shelter", I continue
"And also the man can probably help us out"

I know Elis isn't amused by this idea. But she gives in considering how tight the situation is.

"Fine. So where's this place?" she questions, huffing and looking away from me.

"We are going to Mooresboro."

I really loved the song that I chose for this chapter. It went along so well with what I had in my mind while writing this piece.
