Y/n woke up to yet another cold and rainy day in Quantico, Virginia. There had been a slew of thunderstorms over the past week that seemed never ending as fall ended and winter approached. As she got up, she groaned at yet another nauseating feeling in her stomach and a terrible headache, along with a stuffed up nose. Squinting at the gray sky beaming through the window, she realized she didn't hear her husband next to her, which wasn't a rare occurrence given his job in the BAU.

As she got up slowly, she felt a shiver down her body as the cold air crept in through the drafty windows. She quickly skipped over to the closet and pulled out one of Spencer's flannels and threw on a pair of leggings which fit a bit more snugg this time.

As she walked out into the small but lavishly decorated apartment, she noticed the coffee maker still on but no Spencer to be found. After fixing a cup of coffee she walked back into their shared bedroom and sat on the bed, reaching for her phone. She scrolled down to see a text from him.

"Had to go in early again but I'll be back soon. Call me if you need anything. Love you."

She sighed and sipped more of her coffee. She didn't want to call him as she knew he was probably super busy catching criminals and all that, so she decided to hold out. It was just a headache and some nausea after all.

As the morning progressed she fixed a light meal and tried to catch up on a book she had started a couple days before. But as she read, she noticed the words blurring and her head throbbing, especially around her eyes. This unfortunately only progressed further into the afternoon as she found herself going through a box of Kleenex's like Spencer goes through a book.

Surrendering to the pain and constant sniffling, she got up and popped a couple of Tylenol and went to take a shower to try to clear her head. After drying off and putting on his flannel again, she decided to lay down, making sure the drafty window was shut tight and the curtains drawn as far as they would go. She sighed again, content with the complete darkness in the room, yet disappointed as the shower only helped a little. As she lay there for what seemed like an hour, the pain grew and so did her nausea and sensitivity to temperature. She quickly took off the flannel and sat there defeated in only her sports bra and leggings, a light sheen of sweat forming over her body.

She got up slowly and searched the bathroom cabinet for a thermometer and placed it in her mouth. After a minute, it beeped and revealed a 100° temperature.

"Low grade fever, that's not good." Y/n thought to herself.

After laying on the bed with a cold rag on her head, she felt a queasy sensation come over her and she quickly found herself  becoming very acquainted with the toilet. She sat on the cold tiled floor and calmed herself down, and tried her best to freshen up and reluctantly headed back to the bedroom.

Y/n really didn't want to call him, but she knew it was later in the day, 4:30 pm to be exact, so maybe there was an off-chance he wasn't too busy. With hesitant fingers she dialed his number and shakily put the phone to her ear.
She didn't have to wait long, after the first ring he answered.

"Hey babe what's up?" He said, she could hear the roaring of what she assumed was the planes engine in the background.

"Hey..." she said weakly.

"You okay?" He asked concerned.

"Um no *sniffling* not really. I think I'm coming down with the flu or something..." she said her voice cracking.
