~ Emily's POV ~

It's raining and I realize I have no sweater. I feel my hair and it's soaking wet. I look straight ahead and see the back of my boyfriend, Luke. I get happy and start running towards him. I slip but quickly get up. I didn't mind that my bum was all wet, because I was going to see my boyfriend after I had been gone for two weeks. I finally reach a few feet away from him, and see him with another girl. I see they are kissing, I look down and turn around.

I open my eyes.

"Fuck," I say out loud as I realize it's Monday which means school. It also means I'll have to go to school and see Luke again.

I slowly get up to get ready for school. I look in the mirror and see dried up tears on my face. I must have cried in my sleep, dreaming my experience all over again.

I turn on the radio loud and hop into the shower. I didn't even wait for it to warm up, because if it's cold then it'll wake me up a bit.

I get out and quickly dry up. I wrap the towel around me and go back into my room, to pick out an outfit. I just grab a random pair of gray skinny jeans and a random shirt. I look at the shirt. It's hideous, but I put it on anyway. The way I dress doesn't matter now. After the incident, nearly nothing mattered.

I slip on my black converse and walk into my dad's room. He was asleep since he has a night job. I look at the time and realize I have to leave. I quickly grab my bag and start walking outside.

Before going to school I got to my best friend Michael's house. We always walk to school together. Just as I got to his house, my phone vibrates. I look at it and see it's a text from Michael.

Michael: Hey Em sorry but I'm not going to school today

I go to his door anyway and knock on it. Within a minute or so he opened it. He was still in his pajamas and I could tell he had just woken up.

"Hey, I told you I'm not going-" I cut Michael off and walked into his house. I pulled him by his wrist and we went into his room.

"Come on, you're going to school," I told him while picking out clothes from his closet. I threw a shirt and a pair of jeans at him.

"Okay, mum," he said slowly walking to his restroom.

After about five minutes I knocked on the door.

"Hurry up or we'll be late," I told him.

"Hold on! I still need to fix my hair, that will take some time," he complained.

"You're such a girl Mikey," I said as I walk away, getting his bag. Him waking up late and saying he's not going to school was nothing new. He does it so often it's predictable.

After a while he finally finished and we head off to school.

"You look nice today," he tells me.

"Oh, stop lying. This shirt is hideous," I say to him.

He laughs and says "that's true, but it looks good on you. Everything looks good on you."

I smile and feel my cheeks start to get warm, most likely meaning I'm blushing. "I know we still have quite some time, but what are you planning to do after high school?" I ask, trying to quickly change the subject.

"I don't really know. Maybe travel somewhere," he replies. "Have you thought about what you'll do?"

"I have. I want to travel too, but I can't make up my mind on where to go," I tell him honestly.

"Maybe we could just travel around the world together," he suggests.

"Yeah," I say as I smile.

He smiles too. "So we'll travel around the world together after high school?"

"Of course! I want to travel the world with you," I tell him.

"Alright then, it's going to happen," he assures me as we walk through the school gates.

"Ugh," I say as I see Luke leaning against a tree. He's wearing faded, blue skinny jeans that are tighter than mine. His shirt was plain black. It wasn't as faded as his jeans, but it was starting to.

I look to his left, and see the girl from that day. She has a lot of makeup, but I think she's able to pull it off. She's wearing a skin tight dress, but not as tight as Luke's jeans. I start feeling a lump in my throat, seeing her with him.

Even though it has been months since it happened, I'm still not over it. I still get nightmares and sometimes even cry myself to sleep.

When it first happened I would stay in bed for days, not doing anything. By the time I finally decided to get out and take a shower, I started to cut. I almost did too deep, but Michael had stopped me.

"I hate him," Michael tells me while he looks at him.

"Why?" I turn my head to Michael. "He didn't do anything to you."

"He hurt my best friend." He looks back at me and I smile.

"I'm so glad we're friends," I say to him as I hug him.

The bell then rang and we head our separate ways to class.

~ Luke's POV ~

I can't believe Emily is with that loser. I hate him. I spit out my gum when I seen her hug him.

"What's wrong babe?" Julia asked.

"Nothing," I told her, ignoring the fact that she called me babe. I didn't even care. I was too busy thinking about Emily. The bell rang and I left Julia behind, ignoring her to get to class.

I walk in and see Emily sitting in the front, and I automatically go to the back. I can't believe she'd rather be with that loser than me. But I don't blame her. Not after what happened.

After the incident Emily wouldn't talk to me or answer me. I'd keep calling her and texting her but nothing. I sometimes try going up to her but she's usually with Michael or she'll walk away from me.

I got out a blank paper and decided to pass her a note.

Emily, I know you are mad at me or probably hate me. But please read this. I miss you. I love you. Please let me explain what happened that day. Please.
-Luke

I folded it and gave it to the person in front of me.

"Hey could you pass it up?"

"Sure," he said and passes it up.

It's nearly close to her and I start feeling nervous. The teacher saw the note and got it before Emily did. he opened it and read it out loud to the whole class.

I feel so embarrassed. I glance at her and see she is looking at me. She looks embarrassed and I feel my face going red when I noticed that the whole class was looking at me and her.

After what felt like hours but was really a minute or so our teacher began to continue with the lesson like nothing happened.

When class was over I began looking for Emily. I find her and go up to her. She looks down, holding onto her backpacks straps. She looks nervous and sad. She used to always be happy and seemed to always be herself around me, but now.. it's completely different. It's all my fault and I hated myself for that.

"Umm... can we talk about the incident at lunch? Maybe by the tree that is right next to your class that's right after lunch," I asked her, not sure how she'd react.

Emily stayed quiet for a minute, probably thinking about it.

"S-sure.. I-I have to go," she quietly told me as she went to her next class.

A/N: I hope you like it :) if you did please share it and let me know so I could continue!~
