Eddie and Richie had now arrived at the arcade and they had, for some reason been selling slushees so each of the losers got one, it was only 50 cents a piece so it was $3.50 altogether and they paid in quarters. Let's just say the cashier wasn't happy.
Everyone got red slushees except Eddie, he got blue. The losers were currently trying to find a two player fighting game, and Richie kept whining about wanting to play street fighter but they kept searching nonetheless.
"Are you serious??" Stan exclaimed, throwing his arms up in defeat "we have searched this entire arcade and there is not a single two person fighting game besides street fighter!!??"
"This is r-r-r-ridiculous!" Stuttering Bill includes himself in the conversation.
"Why do you think I play street fighter so much?? You never know when people will walk into your life because of a video game." Richie continues on to say, "I guess we'll just have to play street fighter.." he tried to sound like he was upset but they all knew he was excited to play.
The others not including Eddie and Richie wouldn't have to play for very long though, luckily.
As the group of five had discussed earlier when they decided that they were going to the arcade (they had told mike when Eddie and Richie were getting quarters), they would encourage Eddie and Richie to play a two player and then leave when they're too invested in the game to notice.
So they made the journey back to the beginning of the arcade and found Richie's all time favorite game.
They got back to the front after having to walk past the cashier they paid with quarters as she was scowling at them the entire time. "Ok! Who's playing with me first?" Richie asked just loud enough for the group to hear.
In turn he got everyone shouting not it.
"Seriously guys? It's not thaaatt bad." Richie wasnt surprised no one wanted to play with him, everyone was tired of playing it over and over again.
"Say not it on three and whoever Richie heres say it last has to play street fighter with him." Mike suggests and the whole group agrees, "1... 2... 3! NOT IT"
"NOT IT" Stan follows,
"NOT IT" Bill yells,
"NOTIT" Bev says as fast as possible.
"NOT IT" Ben says, as loud as ever.
"NOt it..." Eddie says, knowing that he was last of the group to say the phrase.
"My Eddie spaghetti!! Were you trying to stay with mee~" Richie exclaims, winking at the small boy.
"Absolutely not." Eddie replies, sounding unamused but his face had a dust of pastel pink that was barely noticeable, but of course Richie notices everything, and takes note as it confuses him but he decide not to say anything.
The losers shove them over to the game, all excited that their plan is coming together. "Go go! None of us want to play just deal with it!" Bev said as she was pushing Eddie.
"I know! Can you stop pushing me now?" as if on que, Bev stopped pushing him and he almost fell backwards, if it wasn't nt for Richie grabbing his hands and stabilizing Eddie.
"Are you trying to hold hands?" Stan said teasingly.
But much to his surprise, Richie replied "I sure as hell am." and he hooked his arm around Eddie, who was very confused, but quickly caught on and reached his hand up to entangle it with Richie's.
