What Cassiopeia is
wearing for the chapter ^Hard Days Night
——I couldn't help but smile at the warmth that surrounded me when I finally woke up, welcoming it by tightening my hold around it. In response, I got a small murmur that I couldn't quite make out before feeling a hand intertwine with mine and pull me closer.
"Harry" I whispered, not knowing if he was actually awake or not.
When I got no reply, I laid my head back down on his chest and felt the rhythmic beating of his heart. My eyes widened at the sudden movement of his body, thinking he woke up and was ready to move, but instead opting to change his position of his head on mine to on my chest and near my neck, his dark curls of hair tickling my cheek and ear.
He nuzzled further into my collarbone and draped the hand that once held my hand over my waist, effectively keeping me close.
I snorted quietly at the thought of him subconsciously wanting to be the small spoon and how he changed that so he could comfort me. I pulled the blanket that had been tossed around back over us and laid there in silence so I wouldn't wake him up.
Momentarily lifting my head, I saw my phone peaking out from underneath the pillow on Harry's side. I reached a hand out that wasn't in his hair and let my fingers curl around the device. I closed my eyes before turning it on again, seeing the green message once more and swallowing hard.
Conan (yesterday)
Thanks for the money! It didn't seem like something you should respond too. After all, I hadn't talked to him or Cordelia in almost a year, knowing that if I tried I'd have to deal with my mother. It gave me goosebumps thinking about the arguing, the shattered glass, and tears, but I put it aside in my mind.
I let my fingers glide along the keyboard to give a reply to my brother. It was useless to avoid having a talk with a stubborn and ignorant person considering that she had probably already read the text herself and Conan had told her about it.
My fingers sagged down at the thought of them being treated like I used too. I hoped our mother only put the pressure and troubles on me, because my younger siblings didn't deserve it. I felt guilty just thinking about it.
"Cassiopeia?"
I sent the text quickly and locked my phone, bringing my face down to meet Harry's who had taken his out of my neck.
"M'sorry, I didn't mean to-" He gestured to how close and tight he was holding me, but I didn't seem to mind.
"It's alright" I smiled, giving him a head scratch from my other hand that was still on his head.
"Are you feeling any better?" He asked softly, leaning his head back into me as I ran my fingers through his hair.
"I am," I exhaled, letting my chin rest on top of his head, "Thank you"
"There's no need to thank me," Harry muttered and I could feel his lips moving against my neck, sending blood up my veins and to my face, "It's not like I have magic powers to heal you of your sickness"
I instinctively grit my teeth at the lie.
"No, but you were there for me"
"It's called being a friend Cassiopeia" He let the hand that was secured around my waist go and put it up to my hair, raking through the tangles.
"Then thank you for being a good friend" My lips tugged upwards when he chuckled, his breaths warm on my skin.
"You're welcome," He said in return.
There were a few comfortable beats of silence before he spoke again.
"Why didn't you turn to Charlotte and let her comfort you though?" He questioned before his hand creeped around my waist again and squeezed, "Not that I mind or anything"
I gave a small laugh and quieted before answering, "She's can be such a mom sometimes, more than what my own was, and I love her but it's exhausting sometimes"
"She just trying to care for you," Harry mumbled, almost scared to say it.
"I know," I said, smiling at the thought of my cousin, "But shes the smothering type and i-"
"I get you" Harry cut me off when my voice got small.
"Let me guess," I started, "Does she do the same to you all?"
He hummed in reply, "Once, Mitch got sick and she wouldn't let him get out of bed until he stopped sniffling, and it was allergy season"
"Oh, poor Mitchell"
"Or when Naomi threw up from drinking too much, but Charlotte wouldn't let it go that she probably had the flu"
"You definitely know what I'm talking about"
"You know," Harry moved a little, almost like he was getting up, "I would love to just lay here and sleep the rest of the night away, but we have a concert in," He checked his phone that was under the pillow, "about two hours"
"Alright, Im up!" I enthusiastically said, untangling our legs and sitting up completely.
"Can we..." Harry had gotten up into a sitting position as well but kept his gaze on the pillow, "Can we snuggle again, later?"
I felt myself flush, "I'd love too"
As I opened the curtain to be greeted by the dark sky, I remembered something trivial and turned to him with a smirk, "As long as I'm big spoon"
He just gave me a small smile that showed his right dimple in reply.
