"How old are you, Betty?"

"Eighteen," Betty quietly says and then looks up at him.

"I'm 20."

She nods and they walk until they reach the fountain again. Betty can see some people looking at them, and Jughead greets a few of them, but when they pass the square, they have to walk down a street with a lot of noise and adults who act like kids.

That's when she whimpers and hides herself a little behind Jughead, squeezing his hand.

The guy notices and looks worried as he leads them through there. "We're almost there," he promises and has an urge to pick her up and carry her , but holds himself back.

They turn left from the street and Betty looks in awe at all the sudden houses. They have big gardens and most have at least a slide and a swing in them. The one she and Jughead walk to though has even a big trampoline.

It's a two story house, but not as big as some around it. Though it has big glass windows/walls.

And it's even more amazing when they go inside. Betty keeps clinging onto his arm when Jughead leans down to take off his shoes, which he finds endearing.

"Can you take your shoes off, please?"

Betty doesn't say anything but carefully lets go of him and takes them off. Her socks are also filled with mud and wet, he can see.

"Socks too," he says with a frown and she does it, dropping them onto her shoes.

"Good girl. Come with me."

She doesn't need to be told twice and grabs his hand again, holding it with both of hers. She's scared, he can tell. But apparently not of him, which is weird.

He walks her straight to the downstairs bathroom. "Do you want a bath or a shower, sweetheart?"

"Bath," she immediately whispers, and Jughead gently pulls his hand out of hers.

He starts the water in there while Betty curiously looks around the full bathroom. It's big and he has so many things that she's almost jealous.

"Which one would you like?" Jughead asks and gets her attention again, holding out three different bubble baths.

Betty looks at him unsure, but he only smiles softly. "Smell them."

She does just that. She squirts her nose at the peppermint one, and Jughead can tell almost immediately that she doesn't like it. Then she moves onto a marshmallow one, and then a vanilla.

Betty doesn't say anything, but taps the vanilla bottle and Jughead smiles, pouring some of the bubble bath into the bath. He watches the way Betty curiously watches how bubbles are created.

Then he takes a fluffy light purple towel from the big shelf and puts it on the top of the laundry basket. "Do you think you can wash yourself?"

Betty nods eagerly.

"Okay. Well, I'm gonna be right outside. When you're done or if you need any help, call me, alright?"

She nods again.

When he leaves and closes the door behind himself, Betty takes off all her clothes before sitting on the toilet. She hasn't used a normal one for ages and even though she's embarrassed every time she does, she just needs to get this out. It's the most private place she's been in for a while.

After she's done with her business and has flushed the toilet, she climbs into the bath and sighs in the warm water, relaxing. It doesn't take long before it's not as transparent as before, her dirty feet, hands and everything else ruining it.
