Chapter 5: Amelia

Amelia rushes out of the library almost bumping into Iris. They didn’t bother to look back or say sorry as they headed to their teacher to request to be moved to a more fitting group for them. As their teacher’s room came into view, the ring of the school bell echos through the hallway.

Amelia internally groans and head towards their first class. It was very hard to avoid the rest of the group during their classes. Amelia shared all of their classes with at least one or two from the group.

Lunch came around and usually, Luna comes to bother her while they eat their lunch. Well, not bother but rather accompany them. The two of them usually sat outside in the garden in the middle of the school.

Amelia sat under a tree doubting that Luna will be joining them after what happened earlier at the library. The cafeteria is visible from the garden due to the unnecessarily huge windows thus Amelia can see Luna talking to Avery and Ocean with a face full of… Worry? Guilt? Amelia couldn’t describe it.

A few minutes later, Amelia can see Luna leave the cafeteria and walk into the garden. Luna stopped a few feet away from them. “May I join you?” Luna asked. “I don’t see why you have to ask permission”. Luna sat down beside them. “Look, we’re sorry for what happened earlier at the library. But we can’t promise that we won’t do it again so we understand if you want to continue your request to change groups”.

“Wha-“ Amelia was taken aback. “How did you know that I was planning to change groups?” “I don’t know. It just seemed like you would do so considering all that we’ve done to you” Luna explained. “Ok, I’ll reconsider. But the next time I see you do it again and find out you do it intentionally, I won’t hesitate”.

“Oh no. I can promise you that we don’t do it intentionally” Luna assured. They continued finishing their lunches until the bell rang signifying their next class is starting. “Well, see you later in sixth period” Luna smiled. “Like I have a choice” Amelia mumbled. “What was that?” “I said Yeah, see ya”. They departed to head to their respective classes.

Amelia bumped into Iris on the way to their final class for the day. “Walk with me?” Amelia encouraged. Iris nodded. “Look, we’re sorry for earlier. We didn’t realize that this project meant that much to you” Iris apologized. “No, it’s my fault. I should’ve made my point clearer to you and it was illogical for me to lash out like that. Plus, Luna already explained earlier so don’t worry about it” Amelia explained.

They got to class and sat down in their respective seats. It was Monday, meaning they were given time to discuss their project while their teacher checked their homework that was given over the weekend.

“I’m sorry about earlier. It was faulty of me to act like that. I should’ve just grabbed your attention and explained the project fit for your understanding”. “Wow, thanks. You just called us stupid” Avery interrupted. “Look, all I’m trying to say is that I shouldn’t have acted like that and I’m willing to try again if you guys are”. The four looked at each other questioningly. “Like we have a choice” Avery murmured. “I mean yeah, of course. It’s important to us as much it is to you. We’re sorry if it doesn’t seem like that” Avery admitted.

The group stared at Avery, shocked at the sudden confession. Avery stared at the group with an annoyed-confused face. “What?” The four shrugged it off and continued discussing the project and arranged their next meeting, their full attention to Amelia and mentally reminding themselves not to upset them again in the future if they want a decent grade for their finals.

Amelia was a little glad that they can see the four listening to them with a few to no times being distracted. ‘Let’s hope I have the patience for them to last at least a year’ they thought.

I might change my upload schedule to every month instead of every week because my school will be starting in october but the clubs already started last week and will be having activities each week.
I'm also trying out animation because I want to get the most out of this month and do everything I might not be able to do anymore when school starts.
I'm going to a new school so it may be difficult to get used to it😅
