Chapter 15: Meeting his Royal Majesty

I stayed up late, trying to sleep, but interfering with this dream... That same voice, and the words he just said. Why does he even want to do this? I could even remember some good old times my mom and dad spent when Abigail was still a baby, and I was about 6 years old back then, how I missed this day. But, it's long gone now... so... what's left for us now is, *sigh*, divorce... and negativity...

I checked the time, it's 11:39 pm, Friday. I just have to stop caring before anything else goes wrong, and darn, I hope Hanna would just change the way they act. I just hoping...

"Hey, Abigail." I shake her gently, "Nggghh, what time is it?" she asked, despite the fact that I interrupted her dream of living in a Disney world, "I have a feeling that going up the surface might help us." I whispered, taking care not to wake up Mum, "Why that?" Abigail asked me, in a low tone, "That same dream, voice, and words..." I mumbled, "It just don't make any sense now..." I mumbled, "I'm ready!" Abigail whisper-shouted, "What?" I whispered in shock, "I know that... We've already made friends with these Naturals, and now, Legends, so, why not free all of us and..." Abigail, filled with Spirit... "Alright, but, is Mum okay with this?" I looked worried...

I called Ash's number, she never respond. We tried calling with the cell phone, but, wouldn't respond too, I packed up my bag, teleported with Abigail in... uh... what?

It has a grey hallway, we can see the view of the.. castle (?) I saw a light in the doorway, and Abigail and I entered it, she went to a chest, filled with... items, they might be useful, Abigail kept them, she whispered something in front of the chest... what is she doing? After all that happened, I looked... it was a long, yellow hallway, with pillars, a lot of them, I walked towards that hallway, pillars following through... and that hooded figure, standing in the way... Abigail stayed behind me, I stood there, then... she started her speech...

"so... you've finally made it. the end of your journey's at hand... in a few moments, you will meet the King. together, you will determine the future of this world. that's then. now, you will be judged. you will be judged for your every action, will be judged for every EXP you've earned..."

EXP?

"what's EXP? it's an acronym. it stands for EXecution Points. a way of quantifying the pain you have inflicted on others. when you kill someone, your EXP increases, when you have enough EXP, your LOVE increases. LOVE too, is an acronym. it stands for Level Of ViolencE, a way of measuring someone's capacity to hurt. the more you kill, the easier it becomes to distance yourself. the more you distance yourself, the less you will hurt. the more easily you can bring yourself to hurt others..."

Hmm... we kept silent for a bit, to finish her speech...

"... but you."

"you never gained any LOVE. 'course, that doesn't mean you're completely innocent or naive. just that you kept a certain tenderness in your hearts. no matter the struggles or hardships you've faced, you strived to do the right thing, you refused to hurt everyone. even when you run away, you did it with a smile. you never gained LOVE, but you gained love. does that make sense? he-heh, maybe not."

"now. you're about to face to greatest challenge of your entire journey. your actions here.. will determine the fate of the entire world. if you refused to fight, the King will take your soul and destroy the naturals' tribe. but, if you kill him and go home, legends will be remained trapped underground."

I shuddered...

"so what will you do? ... well, if i were you, i would've thrown in the towel right now. well you two didn't get this far to give up, do you?" What...? "that's right, you have something called 'spirit' and 'loyalty'." My soul gave a pulse, it's... glowing...  "so as long as you hold on... so as long as you do with your hearts... i believe you can do the right thing. alright... we're counting on you two..." "But wait... there's something missing...." she suddenly said, I walked up to her, and Ash brought up her soul, giving my soul some kind of healing magic... it... suddenly started to glow a bit of indigo... until... it fully restored it's once glowing color and trait... I felt... unusual happiness... filling my soul... "T-thank you, Ash..." I started to weep, and I hugged her... she patted my shoulder, "Good luck, kiddo..." she whispered under her breath...

I'm ready...

I looked around... Ash wasn't there... again... Abigail and I continued on the hallway...

I went to a room, now a grey version of 'Home'... I found two presents, I opened the first one... it has a heart locket bracelet, I opened the locket, it has a picture of Hanna and... a girl, with short brown, curly locks of hair, and wearing a striped clothing, she's... the princess? I wonder what her name must be... I thought about the book I read earlier... before this happened... I worn the locket bracelet... I opened the second one, its... a worn-out dagger? Not gonna need that...

Abigail found two keys, both green, we opened the chain locked in there, and entered the throne room, some buttercups followed through, we saw a man, looking old, wearing a dark violet cape, and a little gold crown... 

"Hmm hmm hmmm... Oh, is someone there?" he asked, I stepped forward, "Please, wait for a moment... I'm almost finished..." he raises a hand, signalling for us to wait... "Ah... here we are..." He turned to see us... looking surprised, "Oh, greetings... I am Calvin... the known King of the Underground... if you're ready..." he then when to the next door, where we found the barrier... 

"This is the barrier. This... is what keeps us all inside the Underground..." "If you two have unfinished business, please.. let me know..." "We don't have any business to do, Sir Calvin..." I answered politely, "Hmm... I see..." He then turned to see us... "Ready?" Seven jars appeared from below, one empty.
