6. Back To Normal? I don’t Think So…
Soon enough the weekend arrived, but all wasn’t well I was still thinking about what Sky had said to me and I hadn’t seen him since. I walked towards my wardrobe and took out a hoodie and skinny leg jeans; I then pulled on my ugg boots and combed my hair, pulling it back into a pigtail with a ribbon. Crystal and Iris were both still asleep but when I accidently knocked some books off Iris’ bedside table they both woke up blinking with grogginess.
“Wha was that?” Crystal muttered as she blinked a couple of times and let out a little yawn.
“Huh?” Iris muttered as she opened her eyes fully.
“I’m sorry” I apologised; Crystal looked at her clock and groaned.
“It’s not even 9:00am yet” she complained. “I’m going back to sleep” she added as she snuggled back into bed.
“Yeah I think I will too” Iris muttered. I nodded in understanding, picked the books up and then left the room closing the door quietly behind me. I headed down the hallway thinking over all of the things that had happened. I decided to skip breakfast and made my way down the elevator to the bottom floor and headed out into the yard.
I took a book out of my back pack, sat under a tree and began to read it, I also decided to think over what I would do today. After a few hours Borko, Crystal and Iris all came outside.
“Courtney we’ve been looking for you everywhere!” Crystal exclaimed.
“Huh?” I asked looking up at them.
“We have permission to go out into the town” Iris explained.
“Oh okay” I replied as I got to my feet and dusted myself off. “What will we do in the town?” I asked. But before anyone else could reply Sky jumped down from up in the tree landing in front of me.
“I’m coming” he muttered.
“Why?” I asked.
“Because” Sky replied.
“Because isn’t an answer” I stated. “Wait a second….” I whispered as I pressed a finger to my chin in thought.
“In case they come after you again, now that they know of your whereabouts” Sky replied.
“Okay” I said with an uneasy smile. “Anyway what are we going to do today?” I asked then looked around and realised Dilmi wasn’t there. “Where’s Dilmi?” I asked.
“She’s studying” Crystal replied.
“Oh okay” I said.
“We were thinking of going shopping, going out for a bite to eat and then going to the library, we haven’t been there for a while” Crystal replied.
“Okay” I said with a nod.
“We can catch the bus” Crystal explained pointing towards the front gates where a bus stop sign was placed.
“Okay” I said.
“Let’s go!” Borko exclaimed energetically. Soon we had all boarded the bus and were off to the town. I sighed, I was sitting next to Sky whilst everyone else sat elsewhere.
“What’s up?” Sky asked me.
“Nothing, I’ve just realised that we shouldn’t be at this school but I can’t stand the thought of losing all of these great friends I’ve made” I replied. Before Sky could reply we pulled up at the bus stop in town, everyone got off and I slung my backpack over my shoulders.
