It took two more days until they felt fit enough to come back. Now that the Jiang Cheng and Wei Ying felt like true brothers again he felt happier. Wei Ying laughed like he hadn't in a long time and flourished like a flower like their attention.
Wei Ying couldn't move a lot. The mirror water made sure of that. But he tried. Lifting a trembling arm to caress Shi-Jie, clasp Lan Zhan's hand or lightly fist bump with Jiang Cheng and so on. It wasn't much but it all he could do to make them understand how happy he was.
And when they came, he was prepared.
"Are you sure you want to see?" he asked them.
"Why wouldn't we want to?" Jin Zixuan questioned.
"I once thought ignorance was stupidity and an unwanted liability. But now I understand that ignorance is really a blessing in disguise. If you're sure you want to go on... I will not stop you." he waited hoping for someone to speak but no one did.
"No one? No backing out then." he closed his eyes and forced his conscious in to the mirror. He faded and the mirror glowed.

'I need to go help Jiang Cheng. But where should I go from here first? How could I find him?' A little farther away he saw the glimmer of a tavern.
'Hm. Of course, Jiang Cheng would be in the middle of the battle. First I need to know how far they have fought and where they really need help. A tavern would be a good place to find it out. But right now I need to wash before someone gets a heart attack thinking that I'm a ghost or something.'
Finding a small stream he washed as much as he could without taking off his clothes. Suddenly he stilled hearing a few voices.
"Yeah they really think they can win! Fools! Even if they have millions of people on their side they can't win while Sect Leader Wen has the Yin Iron!" One of them said. He peeked. It was a group of Wen Clan soldiers.
"Pooh! As if! Did you see that Jiang- what's his name?- Jiang Wanyin? Trying to fight with that sorry excuse of a Sect?" he laughed and Wei Ying bristled with fury. He straightened up and stepped in to the path radiating resentment like a cloak.
"Hey who are you?!" one of the brandished something at him. His fury heightened when he saw what it was. A Wen branding seal. The brand on his chest burned just like it did when Wang Lingjiao branded it at first.
"Your bane..." he said before lifting his dizi to his lips and making it sing the fury, the thirst for revenge he had.
'They should have never talked bad about Jiang Cheng.' He poured the resentment in them. Seeped them in it like they were some men dying of thirst and the resentment was the water. They died slowly and painfully throttling them with ropes of resentment.
And finally he lowered his flute, and sighed.
'I shouldn't take it too far. It's too close to the civilians.'

They were amazed. Even when he was so angry he still managed to restrain himself for the sake of some bystanders.

He dug around the robes of the soldiers and took their money pouches. Then he walked inside the tavern he spotted earlier. Wei Ying was relieved that it was empty except for the owner and the maid, who was probably his daughter.
The man tensed when he saw him and Wei Ying cringed.
"Can I uh- have a room for the night?" he asked slowly putting a gold coin on the counter. It was more then the price, but he knew that he would be reluctant to accept him when he looked like this.
