His body was long and he stood at a height of 185cm.His black shirt was tucked into his pants—displaying his good figure—and his casual white suit pants highlighted his long legs.
He shoved his hands in his pockets, leaned to one side, and stood in front of Li Weiyin. The moonlight happened to fall in his direction and it covered him from head to toe.
He had an extremely good-looking face and his lips were curved into a charming angle as he tilted his head and winked at Li Weiyin, “Thanks.”
His deep and mysterious voice contained an indescribable sense of charm. But, before his voice faded away, he had already disappeared.
Li Weiyin did not take this small interlude to heart. As the sun began to rise, she returned to 28 Lihua St and rang the doorbell.
The person to open the door was her family’s long-time domestic helper, Auntie Hui. As soon as Auntie Hui saw Li Weiyin, she opened the door in surprise, “Big Miss, you’re back?”
“En,” Li Weiyin smiled politely.
“Hurry inside, the fog is thick at this time of day and it is very cold,” Auntie Hui immediately led Li Weiyin into the house. “Big Miss, you haven’t been to your new bedroom. It’s the farthest room on the second floor. There is a big balcony that Master Li specifically left for you and it has been decorated according to the style you like…”
“Where are my mother and sister?” Li Weiyin asked as she followed Auntie Hui upstairs.
“The Madam and the Second Miss has been at the hospital the past two days,” Auntie Hui said as she furrowed her brows sadly.
“Apart from my father’s illness, has anything happened at home recently?” Li Weiyin asked.
“Nothing major.” Auntie Hui shook her head before she said, “It hasn’t been too safe here the last few days. Apparently, a few children have been kidnapped. Second Miss specifically told us that the kidnappers have been targeting wealthy families, so she instructed us not to reveal anything about you if any strangers asked.”
As she spoke, Auntie Hui looked at Li Weiyin carefully and said, “Big Miss, the Second Miss actually cares about you in private.”
Auntie Hui had watched the two young ladies grow up, so she was familiar with the distance between them.
“Yes, she certainly cares about me,” Li Weiyin smiled with an underlying meaning to her words.
It was at that moment that she understood the crux of her problem.
Li Weixin had woven a lie and easily persuaded her mother to play along.
Meanwhile, her father was in the hospital, so Lou Yucheng couldn’t see him.
Her mother, her sister, and helpers that had worked in her house for more than ten years all said that she wasn’t the Big Miss of the Li Family. Moreover, her address was incorrect. It was no surprise that Lou Yucheng acted abnormally when he heard that she was using the Li Family’s crisis to scam money from him.
If she was in his position, it would be hard for her to believe herself too. After all, Mrs. Li, the Second Miss, and the helpers were all real.
As for the reason why Li Weixin lied? She had always been hostile towards her. It was either because she didn’t want to see Li Weiyin happy, or the 19-year-old youth had fallen in love with the same man as her sister.
The biggest disappointment for Li Weiyin was that her mother was easily persuaded and actually lied with her younger daughter.
She had absolutely no consideration for the pain it would cause her.
Perhaps, this was the difference between caring and not caring. Li Weiyin simply didn’t realize it before.
“I’m going to go check on my father at the hospital,” Li Weiyin turned around decisively as she stood in front of her bedroom door.
“Big Miss, do you know which hospital he’s at? Wait here, I’ll get Xiao Chen to take you…”
