Still deep in thought, I drove down the crooked deserted road. The wind was getting stronger by the minute as the dying old trees on both sides of the road was stripped bare. The leaves flew around with the wind, dancing like groups of earth fairies. Occasionally, brown wilted leaves stuck onto my windscreen but I just couldn't be bothered to clear them. I knew these roads so well I could drive blindfolded. Besides, I was busy plotting my sweet revenge.
Being quite bored of always just listenning out for secrets and exposing them publicly to humiliate the person, I have proudly decided that this time would be very different. I would torture him in any ways possible except physically of course, I wouldn't want to dirty my delicate hands for someone like him. Oh Jayce, I have so many things planned for you...I hope you look forward to them. I smiled a crooked smile.
Finally arriving at the cliff, I parked my car on the patch of grass. Hastily scrambling out of the car, I locked it and ran towards the cliff. The cool yet salty sea breeze welcomed me like an old friend. I tucked a few strands of my fiery hair that was blocking my vision behind my ear and took a step forward. I concentrated hard, searching around for thoughts nearby but found none.
As the tide crashed against the rocks far below me, I spotted a green splotch. It could have been easily mistakened for a clump of seaweed but I knew better. I smiled. That cheeky little bastard. Looking around again, I felt satisfied that there was no one around. Welcoming the ocean with my arms opened wide, I jumped.
The strong gushes of wind blew mercilessly against my face, forcing me to close my eyes and I finally hit the sea with a loud splat. The freezing sea water bit my skin but to me, this tingling sensation was the best. It made me feel at ease. I was where I belonged. Slowly, I transformed back. My legs seemed to be suddenly stuck together by super glue and the next moment they were something completely different. Swishing my newly formed tail around, I couldn't help but grin like a fool. My eyes had adjusted to the darkness and I looked up to admire the streaks of moonlight that broke into the waters.
As expected, the green mass came towards me at a surprising speed.
Omph. Miranda hugged me with such force that I was sure my rib cage was about to break.
"Jeez. How many times do I have to tell you not to come up here you silly seaweed-head?" I said in what I hoped was a reprimanding tone but I couldn't keep my happiness from showing, gazing at my youngest sister lovingly.
I may hate humans with much passion but I'm not as heartless as I usually seemed. I really do have a soft spot for my sisters. Especially for delightful little Miranda.
Her face was like one of an angel, her unique light green hair flowing around her, caressing her neck. She had rosy cheeks, a slightly upturned nose and plump soft lips. Looking up at me, her eyes lit up like a christmas tree. She was wearing a black tshirt with a starfish design on it. I didn't recognise the shirt so it was probably one of my designer Mum's new designs.
"Hey, then what are these for then?" Miranda pulled at her light green locks, making a face of disgust.
She was right though, her hair sure was the perfect disguise. I let out a sigh of resignation. She was still too young to understand the dangers that lurk around.
"C'mon. Better get you back home quickly before Dad explodes again!"
Miranda just giggled.
We raced each other towards the seabed which was still hidden from sight, far below the murky waters. Swimming with all our might, we laughed our heads off like maniacs. Doing a backflip, I turned back and gave her a wink, increasing my speed even more. I could hear her grumbling under her breath about always being the slowest. For once in this week, I actually felt happy.
Feeling as if a flower had blossomed in my heart, I let its sweetness engulf me and forgot all about Jayce. The waters rang with our joyous laughters.
