>>Friday>>
I looked at my watch one last time: 2:09. I was one minute from the weekend we had all been craving. It's not like it had been a bad week, I just needed a few days to process everything that happened. Danielle seemed sort of off, like something was continuously bugging her, dance practice felt like a shark pit...the bitches these girls turned out to be was overwhelming, and then there's Chase whom my eyes always seemed to somehow find. Too bad he never talked to me after that one day, in all fairness we weren't really put together but one can hope.
Needless to say I was looking forward to some down time and party time.
*DING DING DING* Finally, the last bell of the day rang. Everyone was hurrying out of school in a blur. I quickly walked to the locker meeting up with Dani.
"Molly's house tonight, we still on?" She asked not looking up from the books she was shoving into her cargo messenger bag.
"Yeah at least she's one of the sane ones on the team."
"It'll get better, no one likes the new girl."
"True. When you wanna pick me up?"
"It starts at 8..so 9:30?"
"Sure I'll be ready," I smiled.
"Hah, yeah about thirty minutes after I get there," she chuckled knowing my lack of punctuality.
"You know where my room is," I laughed, "but I'm going to head out I'll see you tonight okay?"
"Alright love ya," she called buried deep in her locker.
"Love ya too!" I said turning around quickly, finding myself run right smack into Chase.
"Oof," we both said at the same time from the impact of me in his diaphragm.
"Oh, I'm sorry," I laughed nervously glancing back at Danielle who was stifling back laughter. I must say he was looking extra gorgeous today with a baggy white t-shirt, gold cross necklace, Abercrombie jeans and a Fox Riders Hat on backwards.
"It's cool," he now smirked, tilting his head down at me, having recollected himself. It took me a moment to remember to breathe.
"Slick Aud," Nathan commented coming towards us. I pulled myself out of Chase's trance and stuck my tongue out at Nathan making a face.
"Alright well I'll see you guys later," I commented trying to leave hurriedly.
"Bye!" Danielle and Nathan called after me. I took one last peek back and saw Chase leaning on the locker opposite Danielle, eyes flickering towards me. I whipped back around very obviously.
Perfect.
I drove home pretty quickly wanting to forget that little incident...shove it under the rug. I had just gotten to the occasional wave or eye contact stage and I probably just blew it. I pulled into the driveway of my house with the new Weezer album blazing.
"HEY! Turn that down!" My mother hollered from the front garden. I pulled my sunglasses off and pretended to wipe them astonished.
"Is that my mother I see? In a GARDEN?!" I asked climbing out of my car.
"Very funny," she gave me the 'mom look', "I wanted to try a new hobby."
"I think that's more of a spring time activity mother, it's fall."
"Whatever go inside," she commanded leaning up on her knees and wiping the dirt off her hands.
"Aye Aye Captain," I said saluting her, walking around the clump of pansies in our driveway.
