Soundwave X Human Reader

I've never thought about doing a Soundwave X Reader so hopefully it's not too bad!

~Broken Promises~

You have been on the nemesis for a total of 3 months now, kidnapped by Megatron himself as his eyes and ears Soundwave had requested a human to give them an upper hand on some earth knowledge since the bot/human alliance has clearly given the autobots an advantage. If it worked for the autobots it would work for them too right?

Soundwave spent weeks researching certain humans until he came across one that him and his master approved of, that human just so happened to be you. Quiet, respectful but powerful and diligent when needed. Perfect for the decepticon cause, though some cons got more then just another teammate.

You had some free time as no one seemed to have any questions about earth or humanity or how long to cook a child at 350°, yes Knockout has asked those types of questions which often left you speechless...he would often refer to baby's as human 'sparklings' which you had to explain how they were called baby's or children on earth and that conversation continued to a very uncomfortable situation when Breakdown had asked where they were created. Thankfully Soundwaves bird Laserbeak had flown in to pick you up, requesting your presence in the main room, you were extremely grateful for this.

And so you were where you always were when you had free time, on Soundwaves shoulder plate. You had found the con quite interesting from the start given his mute nature and his loyalty which was even sickening sometimes. Though he allowed you to watch him work since you would sit there silently both of you enjoying the peaceful atmosphere and you would occasionally ask questions about Cybertron and what it was like, to this he would respond with different recordings of voices and even showed some pictures on his visor. Megatron had put Soundwave as your 'guardian' of sorts since a lot of other decepticons weren't too fond of a human aboard their ship *cough cough* Starscream.

Soundwave kept you close and if he couldn't be with you personally he would have Laserbeak looking after you. Though this was one of those special moments where you got to be with Soundwave personally, he had taken you down to earth to watch the sunset during one of his very few breaks. He is always working and the fact that he wants to spend his rare free time with you made your heart flutter.

The mech sat down in the empty field with you upon his shoulder as you looked at the changing colored sky. You talked about some things as you laid your head gently against his own, he told you about himself and his hobbies like the fact that he enjoyed reading human books of all genres. "It helps-me -understand how—humans!- feel things- like—fear- inspiration, and—love~" he spoke from different voices, some of which I recognize from the ship and others I've never heard before. You smiled at his innocence and told him about what books you enjoyed reading and it fell silent once again as the sky was a deep orange, pink and some purple.

You couldn't help but stare at the reflection of the beautiful colors on Soundwaves visor, it made it all the more memorable. You were broken from your trance at the sudden question the con beside you spoke out "what-is your—outlook—on-love~-(y/n)?" You were kinda shocked by the sudden question, but didn't think too much of it since he was a very curious con at times and especially with you.

You thought about the question, you were never really a fan of love since you were never quite fortunate in the realm. Though you found yourself craving it from this certain con. "I've never really had much experience with love and honestly never felt the need for it...until here r-recently" you stated and Soundwave turned to you with a question mark on his visor, edging you to continue "it may seem irrational to you...but I wouldn't mind having such a bond with a certain mech. He's made me feel things that I've never imagined and I wish so desperately for him to return said feelings.." you manage to get that out of your chest as you look down blushing at the simple thought of him.

"Who is—he?" Megatrons demanding voice flowed from Soundwave, his attention never leaving you. Should you really tell him? The thought of loosing the close friendship that you've fought to achieve with the decepticon made you decide against it, knowing he would never choose someone such as yourself and the fact that you were a completely different species then him didn't help. "I-it doesn't matter...I would never tell him anyways, in fear of loosing the closest friend I have on the nemesis..." You stutter out and look at him with a sad smile. Yet the aroma coming from him held nothing but pure hatred, sadness and...jealousy? It was hard to pin since he was so good at hiding his true emotions under that visor of his.

"I thought—I-was..your—best-friend!" The con quickly placed his sentence together and before you could say anything else Soundwave continued. "The—mech would-be- stupid!—and-illogical—to not-fall in—love!-with such-a-beautiful femme~—such as-yourself.-they—hardly-deserve—you!" The different words fell together and you were left in a moment of shock, it was very rare for the con to use such words and it left you feeling almost hurt knowing that he was obliviously talking about himself.

"Shut up! You are most certainly deserving of me!" You shot back angrily before realizing what you just said and covering your mouth in attempt to not say anything else that was stupid. It was silent. Deathly silent. For a mere second Soundwave put a '?' On his visor clearly confused at the sudden outburst from his usually laid back companion before reality hit him like a brick and his visor went blank once again. It was as if the statement had put his processor into override and his cooling system kicked on in a desperate attempt to keep the bot functional.

All of this happened in a quick minute or two but it felt like eternity for you. Every agonizingly painful rejection played over in your mind before you willed yourself to speak up, to say something, anything. "So-Soundwave I-I'm sor-" I was cut off abruptly when his servo picked me up and gently placed me on the ground. He transformed into his alt mode and your mind seemed to scream at you 'this is it, he's going to leave you here' 'stupid, stupid! You should've shut your mouth!' Your minds constant yearning and screaming made tears swell in your eyes but before you could scream out your mind to your once-best-friend the cockpit of the jet opened and Soundwaves holoform (insert pic above) quickly hopped out and went towards your trembling form, embracing you in a tight and protective hug.

You were surprised at first but didn't think twice before hugging back just as tight, not wanting to let go of the slim mech before you. You just stood their, enjoying one another's presence before Soundwave spoke "you love..me?" He asked in a voice that you've never heard before, it was soft and instantly made you relax. It was his real voice. One that he had sworn to silence all those eons ago. It was nothing but a broken promise now. You reluctantly pulled away from the hug to face the one that had stollen your heart and realized he had his visor off, revealing the delicate features he hid so often. "Soundwave...I've loved you from the start" you admitted and looked down hiding the blush that dusted your cheeks.

A hand placed itself under your chin which directed your attention back to Soundwave who had the most genuine smile you've ever seen him wear "I love you too (y/n)...don't leave me" he stated and caressed my face in his gentle hand, the sunset left us covered in a soft orange and purple hue and in this moment you felt content. "I don't ever plan on it" you whispered out just loud enough to reach the ears of Soundwave before the gap between you both closed, body against his own with his arms holding you in place desperate to feel you and you him. Your lips danced in a dangerous game of love and pent up passion that you have held from each other for so long finally letting it out and making up for lost time.

You broke apart much to his dismay to fill your lungs with much needed air. He smiled down at you and placed a kiss upon your forehead "let's head back sweetspark" you nodded happily and got in his alt mode before his holoform fizzled away and you made your way back to the nemesis.

Though his broken promise could only be kept between us, it was replaced with another promise. To love each other till death do we still not part.

This has been in my drafts FOREVER. Also I never agreed with the saying 'till death do us part' because if I love someone imma still be theirs in the afterlife so....
