~Aubrielle's POV~
Driving down the busy streets of New York was something I was simply not accustomed to. Back home, we didn't drive around in cars to start with, let alone this many in one place so to say I wasn't fond of it would be an understatement. In the two years Kaori and I have been on Midgard, we still haven't gotten used to what they do around here. Big crowds of sweaty people stuck in one small space have caused me nothing but stress, and I don't think my opinion will be changing any time soon.
I was taken out of my thoughts regarding traffic when the car pulled into a large building that in my opinion, didn't seem like it would be very good at holding my older brother. Kaori and I stepped out of the car and held hands instinctively, scarred we may lose one another in such a strange environment. I was startled by the sudden voice of a man I was very fond of, Nick Fury. "Agents Whitworth and Rika, I'm glad you could assist us today." Said Director Fury too kindly for my liking. "It's our pleasure Sir, anything for Loki." Responded Kaori with a smile. "Please follow Agent Coulson to Thor, I'm assuming you would like to see him first?" Questioned Fury to which I nodded and said a quick "Thank you Sir." before heading through the doors to my right.
I didn't expect to be so anxious when it came to seeing Thor as I currently was. I'm pretty sure I looked scared, because Kaori gave my hand a gentle squeeze and whispered "Don't worry sissy it's just brother what's the worst that could happen.". I sighed contently as we came to a stop in front of a very big white door. Agent Coulson put his hands on our shoulders before very kindly saying "You're brother and his Team are just through there, are you ready to go?" We both quickly nodded, any fear I had vanishing and being replaced with excitement after realizing how much I'd really missed the boys.
As the doors opened, I heard something that instantly put a smile on my face, Thor's laugh. It was just as loud as I remembered and caused me to quickly walk into the room, looking around for the person it belonged to. It didn't take very long because from behind me I heard a confused "Poppy?! K?!". I turned around to see one of my favourite sights, the smiling face of Thor Odinson. I quickly yelled "Sunshine!" before running over and jumping in his arms. My hug was well received and Kaori quickly followed, which lead to the three of us just happily standing in each other's arms, together once more.
"Wait who are you?!" I sadly left the warm embrace to turn and see many other who I recognized as the Avengers, eyes landing on the one who had spoken, Clint Barton. I fangirled a little inside I'm a spy remember, this man is like royalty to me, before walking over to shake his hand. "Agent Barton it is an honour to meet you." I said with a smile, causing Kaori to laugh hysterically at my panicked state due to being face to face with my idol. He responded with "Nice to meet you to?" Acting slightly hesitant before dropping my hand.
I was about to introduce myself before I felt a strong grip on my shoulder and Thor's booming voice echoing through the room. "Everyone! These are my younger sisters, Aubrielle and Kaori." He smiled while introducing us which caused the two of us to roll our eyes. "You know we're adults right? We can introduce ourselves Thor." I said while looking around and smiling at the rest of the group. "Wait you have Sisters?!" Asked the Avengers in sync which caused me to laugh slightly.
"And I thought I was the mean sister but turns out Sunshine over here hasn't mentioned us to his friends." I said while looking over at my flushed older sibling. "Aubrielle I would prefer if you didn't call me that around others." said Thor rather seriously. "What? Sunshine, I think it's just adorable!" said Tony teasingly. I knew he'd get made fun of about that for a long time, sorry not sorry. Kaori and I went around the room saying hi to the Avengers before being dragged to sit on a couch. "Now sisters what has brought you here today?" Asked Thor to which I explained our mission with Loki, and what I had been asked to do.
"So, when is your first opportunity to speak to Loki, Aubrielle." asked Dr. Banner, taking a seat on the couch opposite me. "Oh not till tomorrow, Fury said he wanted Kaori and I to have time to settle down before hand." I answered with a smile, gently pulling on the fabric of my jeans. "Do you have any idea what they want you both to get out of him?" said a stoic voice I wasn't quite familiar with. "Yes Mr. Rogers, I believe the main information Shield is after would be regarding what prompted the battle of New York." Answered Kaori this time, looking away shyly from the tall man in front of her. Aww look at her, getting all embarrassed in front of the pretty man, how adorable. He chuckled gently, before smiling down at the younger on the couch. "Thank you, but you don't need to be so formal with me. Just Steve's fine.". "Sorry Steve, it was just instinct." She laughed out gently, before the room quieted down.
For the next little while the Avengers would alternate asking questions to the two of us, ranging from our favourite colours, to the limits of our abilities. After we all seemed to learn a decent amount about one another, people began to scatter and go about their everyday lives. Now seemed like as good a time as ever to get a sense for how everyone around felt. I closed my eyes and focused on any noticeable emotion I could sense.
The first person I noticed was Natasha, she felt focused yet also reserved and warm at the same time. Steve was next, he was easy to find considering how similar of a feeling he has to Thor. Warm and kind, but delicate in a way similar to a young boy. Due to the amount of strong emotions in the room it started to get more and more difficult to tell which emotion belonged to who. Happiness, confusion, satisfaction, and surprise began to meld into one overwhelming ball of chaos I couldn't even begin to decipher.
That's when I felt it for the very first time,
Cold, a temperature so low I felt like I'd been dropped into a vat of ice water
I was stunned to say the least that someone in this room felt so alone it physically dropped my body temperature, let alone to this degree. I opened my eyes to try and find the source of this emptiness, mentally searching for more information about them. My brain began to work a mile a minute, gather all the emotions of this person that even they chose to ignore. Not only did they feel alone, the other most notable emotions I could feel from this mystery person were serenity and gratitude. Even more curious from the new information, I did my very best to find the person who was expelling so many emotions it was hard to even name them all. I could feel my heart rate increasing and my body begin to tense as it got closer to where they were.
That's when I saw him.
A gentle man who I hadn't noticed previously, sat cautiously behind Steve and Tony. He was tall with long dark hair that was tied partially up, wearing a tank top and sweats. I scanned over his body, looking for any physical signs to his identity before noticing his very prominent metal arm. It was a light metallic shade with an eye-catching red star on the bicep. He seemed rather stoic, very stiff with his movements, yet gentle whenever he came into contact with anyone. His eyes simply told a whole other story. He stared strongly past everyone, looking out the window behind me. Even thought at first glance he seemed rather intimidating, his eyes held a certain innocence I never expected based on how alone he seemed to feel. A certain childish glow remained in his brown irises that reflected the evening sun.
The way the sunset delicately bounced off of his face has to have been one of the most beautiful sights I have ever seen. I became so entranced in the way his emotions made me feel, the world around me began to slip away to the point I barely noticed a certain pair of blue eyes that looked mischievously onto my enchanted state.
It wasn't long before the person of my interest looked back into my eyes, presumably having felt my stare. As we held eye contact, he felt nothing of confusion or discomfort. The only emotion I could feel coming off of him was simply that he felt cherished. It had probably been a long time since someone looked at him with such pure-hearted fascination. He smiled a gentle smile before slowly walking over from the other side of the room. He squatted down in front of me, before delicately shaking my hand.
"I'm Bucky. Aubrielle, right?"

I hope you're enjoying so far
I know this chapter is hella long but I had a lot I wanted to add but I hope you were ok with the length. I'm not overly happy with how this turned out and it's a little hectic but it'll all start to make sense (hopefully) in the next chapter :)
