"We're going to the Philippines!" I announced at home.

Nakita ko ang pagkagulat sa mukha ni Mommy dahil sa sinabi ko. The twins looked at me curiously like I said something they are not familiar with.

"W-What? Why?" naguguluhang tanong ni Mommy. I know that she knows how painful my last memories are in there. Nagtataka siguro siya kung bakit ko naisipang pumunta kami ng Pilipinas.

"It's for a collaborative project, Mom." I explained to her. "And I also want to introduce to my kids the country that I grew up with."

"You know what happened the last time you went there." bulong ni Mommy na hinila na ako palayo sa mga anak ko. "And what if your husband suddenly see you and the kids? Hindi malaki ang Pilipinas para pagtaguan! And your husband is powerful there, you know what he can do if he finds out you're in the Philippines, and with his kids too!"

"Mom, stop with the husband." ngumiwi na ako dahil ilang ulit niyang sinabi. "I already made sure that the company I'm collaborating with is far from his company and place."

"You don't know that! Velarde owns a lot of establishments and properties! Ikaw dapat ang mas nakakaalam no'n!"

Hindi ako nakasagot nang matantong tama siya. And I was so relieve that the company was far from his place without thinking that they have other properties all around the Philippines. Medyo nagdadalawang isip na tuloy ako.

"Bakit mo ba gustong bumalik sa Pilipinas? You want him back? To start a complete family?"

Nanlaki ang mata ko at nalaglag ang panga sa akusa ni Mommy. She was looking at me with a meaningful gaze.

"Of course not!" depensa ko. "I just find this as a chance for my sons to see what life is in the Philippines. Iyon lang talaga ang dahilan kaya pumayag ako. It will only be a month and we're going back here for good."

Gusto ko rin hanapin 'yong taong hinahanap kong nakabili ng property sa winery. Maybe I could find some specific details if I go to the Philippines since the person is living there. I want that property so bad that I'm willing to personally negotiate.

"Paano nga kung nagkita kayo ng asawa mo?"

"Hindi ko siya asawa at sisiguraduhin kong hindi kami magkikita." I reassured Mommy.

Nagluto ako ng lunch namin. Nang matapos ay kumain kami. I let the kids play as I wash the dishes. Pagkatapos ko maghugas ng plato ay umupo ako sa may sala para tignan ang ginagawa ng mga anak ko.

"Mommy, what's the Philippines?" tanong ni Flame habang nilalaro ang toy car na hawak niya.

"That's the place that Mommy grew up in." I answered. "And I want to show it to you."

"Are we going to live there?" bakas ang pagkasabik sa tono ng boses ni Flame. "With Papa and La mémé?"

"No, just for a month then we'll be back here."

Tumango lang si Flame at pinagpatuloy ang paglalaro. Dumako ang tingin ko sa tahimik na si Flare na hawak ang krayola at may kung anong iginuguhit. I smiled and went to see his drawing.

"What are you drawing?" I curiously asked. Napangiti ako nang makita kong family picture ang dinodrawing niya. And it was us. "You're drawing us, huh?"

Tumango si Flare at pinagpatuloy ang ginagawa. Napakunot ang noo ko nang makitang sobra ang dinrawing niya. It was me, Mommy, Nigel, him and his brother, then there's another one.

My brows furrowed as I pointed at it. "Who's that?"

"Papa,"

My lips parted and my eyes widen due to shock. Pakiramdam ko para akong binuhusan ng malamig na tubig matapos marinig ang sinabi ng anak ko.
