I Really Like You

We spent twenty grueling minutes making small talk the best we could. Wow was that awkward.

"So Amelia got anymore plans today?" Caleb asked. Candy looked at me confused.

"No I don't think so we just have another class to get to" 

"Oh okay we'll see you soon." Riley said.

Me and Candy said goodbye and got up to leave the dining hall.

"I thought you guys weren't on good terms." Candy said.

"We aren't I don't know what that was."

"Amelia do you think I could talk to you, I didn't like the way we left things earlier today" I turned around and saw it was Caleb talking to me. Candy looked very confused.

"I don't think right now is the right time Caleb" I said. I just wanted to go.

"Please Amelia, I just want to tell you the reason why I kept saying stuff about me and Riley is because I didn't want you to think we couldn't be together."

"You guys look like you need some privacy" Candy said and then continued walking. I didn't want her to go but I couldn't leave Caleb after what he just said to me.

"Wait really?" I asked.

"Yes, I guess me subtle signs weren't big enough" 

I blushed.

I noticed Riley standing behind us. Her face was covered in annoyance. This was not going to be easy was it.

"Can you say something?" Caleb asked desperation in his voice.

"Look Caleb I need to get to class we will talk soon ok?"

I turned and walked away. This was too much right now. If he had said this to me a two days ago would I have had a different response? This was just messing with my brain. I needed to find Candy. I felt bad for letting her walk away alone.

Calebs POV

What the hell just happened? I never open up to a girl like that. Let alone a girl that I just met. There was just something about her. She was so different from the other girls. Maybe it was because the only girl I've ever really liked is Riley. But we were over. After Amelia finding us together the other day I knew we couldn't do the friends with benefits thing anymore. When I told her she said she would tell Amelia what happened. I wonder why she wasn't more upset when we talked earlier.

I went over to meet back with Riley after Amelia left me on the side walk. She looked mad.

"What was that?"she asked.

"What, I really like her I thought you knew that" 

"I already told you she doesn't like you. She made that very clear to me. You are just going to get yourself hurt again"

"Can we just go" I asked. I was already pretty embarrassed I didn't need Riley reminding me that Amelia wasn't interested.

We walked back to the film rooms for class. 

Amelias POV

I finally got back to the fine arts hall. I needed to find Candy. I didn't want to lose the only friend I had. 

I walked into class and she wasn't there.

"Do you know if Candy will be in class today?" I asked the professor.

"She hasn't shown up yet so I don't know" She said.

"Ok thanks" I said. 

Through out the lesson I found myself wondering about why Candy had left. I really wanted her to stay. More importantly what in the world happened to Caleb. I really thought that he wasn't interested. I wonder why Riley looked so upset. Caleb said they had been broken up for a while. This was all a big mess.
