When Kesha was 17 she decided to move out to California to pursue a career in music. She took a job as a shitty waitress so she could have some income and try to support herself alone out in LA. Kesha said how she would go around trying to find anyone who would want to make music with her. The first "real producer" she came across was David Gamson. Together Kesha and David worked on a few songs that would later be put on her debut album, Animal. They produced Backstabber, C U Next Tuesday, and Stephen. While Kesha was in LA she meta group who loved music and loved to party as much as she did. She would upload the music they made to her MySpace page.

One day she got the phone call that would change her life forever. Dr Luke called her asking if she would sing on Flo Rida's next single, Right Round. Kesha decided to sing on the track even though she didn't get paid one cent out of it. She was fine with not getting paid, only because it would draw attention to her name which would hopefully lead to a career. Another night in Cali Kesha decided to go to bar and have some fun. While she was partying at the club, she decided to put the legendary $ in her name. The Keshiah stated this as her reasoning for the dollar sign, "Putting the $ in my name was my way of saying I am money."

A few weeks after singing on Right around, Ke$ha got a contract offer from Dr Luke. Ke$ha decided to sign with Luke but under one condition, RCA Records would have to buy her a 1978 t-top gold Trans Am. Not long after singing Ke$ha began to work on her debut album Animal. Along with Dr Luke Ke$ha's crew includes Kojak, Max Martin, Benny Blanco, and Ammo. One night Ke$ha and Benny were drunk and hanging fun, and suddenly Blah Blah Blah was born. Eventually after a long times work they had finally finished animal. There were so many songs available for the album but choosing which to put on was a tough call. On August 7th, 2009 they release her first single, Tik Tok. This was everything the Ke$hiah worked for. Her career had begun, people knew her name, and everything was falling into place.
