We strolled down the same way we do every day. Our parents aren't precisely what you call loving. We leave behind the house each morning before they wake up and come home right in the twilight. We strode with Will in front and Nadine and I strolling side by side. I'm beyond any doubt Nadine could tell I'm not the most confident, so she paid extraordinary attention to me. Our brother didn't appear to mind. His head was enormous enough to fill the sea, so he knew Nadine still admired him. Even if she gave special attention to me.
"So... do you guys want to go to the flower field once more? I bet there are several new blossoms sprouting today." Nadine says delicately in her elegant voice.
I gesture and gaze down at her gem blue eyes. "That sounds incredible! The field is my favorite place we head off to." I gaze down at my feet as we wander. Nadine lifts my head whenever I do this. Today was no different. She placed her fingers under my chin and raised my head up. Then my brother finally spoke up.
"I'm not sure if any new blossoms would bloom that fast... but since we're headed that way I have someplace to show you guys!" He twisted around and walked in reverse facing us. That same condescending smirk on his face he continuously has.
He thinks he is so remarkable. No, he knows he is so remarkable. It aggravates me so much. I wish he wasn't so perfect, that I'd see some weakness in him, but oh, I do not think I'll see it soon. We at last made it to the field. Lilac flowers covered the ground, and a marvelous floral fragrance filled the air.
I take my place on a small stump within the center of the field. Nadine sits next to me on a little bare patch on the ground. Will stands at the front of the field, in full view of all the flowers along the yard. His head held high, the total inverse of my own. At that point, I feel those fingers lifting my head again. Nadine outstretched her arm to reach my pitiful face. She looks to Will, with her arm still extended.
"So what were you proposing to show us? I'm assuming you found something on one of your adventures you took on your own the other week?" Nadine grinned after she spoke. I wish she would have been grinning like that at me, but I never head out on my own, I might never discover something to show off to her.
Will matched Nadine's arm, lifting his own with that stupid self-satisfied look on his face. "I found a deserted shack." his arm then outstretches to the water just a few meters from the flower field. "I thought it may turn out to be a good safe house for us ...just in case."
Nadine's face grimaces at the mention of a safe house."I do not think that's a great thought. Mother and Father wouldn't be happy with that. Since I am in charge of you boys. I need to make sure you're safe and in our own house each night. There will be no getaways soon."
I can feel myself sneer. It feels strangely great to see Nadine chastening Will. I rapidly turn my head away so my older brother wouldn't see me grin at his failure. Nadine lifts herself up and walks over to him. She wraps her small arms around his body, he inadvertently hugs her back. I turn my head even more as to not see them embracing.
"I'm sorry, Will. I know you need out of that house, but we need to remain there. It's our home." Nadine says in a solum tone. Will rapidly pulls away after she spoke. He turns from her, and I quickly return to her side.
"I'll be back before night... please do not follow me." Will stormed off after threatening my sister and me. It enraged me, but couldn't get a word out to guard her. Nadine then wraps her delicate body in an embrace around me, knowing I required consolation. Her tender words left her lips gradually as her head buried itself into my chest. "Don't worry about him Gento... let us just enjoys our time within the field while we can." That we did too, and it was perfect. I am happy.
