I woke up feeling like crap. My eyes were a bit swollen from all the tears of the night before. My whole life is a mess. I didn't want to go to school, but I didn't want to stay home either. I wish I could just go to a quiet place and waste my life there instead. Maybe death was quiet- maybe it took you to a quiet place, away from all the trouble. Maybe it was like sleep, sleeping forever- sleep feels amazing.

I sat up in my bed with a sigh, looking at the corner of my room. I always felt as if someone was watching me, but it was probably all in my head. I rubbed my eyes with a soft yawn and got out of bed. I walked over to my door but stilled as I touched the cold doorknob. I didn't want to encounter my parents- neither of them. So I skipped going to the bathroom and brushing my teeth, and decided to stay in my room.

I grabbed the bottle of mouthwash on my dresser and swished it around in my mouth as it started to burn, then spat it out and into my small trash bin. I made my way over to my closet and grabbed a hoodie to hide the cuts on my arms. I then grabbed my backpack and opened my window, looking down to the ground and judging the distance. The drop was about 20 feet so I wouldn't die.. I decided on just climbing down a bit before jumping to possible injury.

I threw my back pack out the window and watched as it landed on the ground. I climbed out, feet first, making sure I had a good grip as I found a place to support my right foot. As I made my way down, I kept my right hand around the pipe that was connected to the gutter in case my other limbs gave way. What a shit mistake that was. With both my legs about five feet away from the ground, my right hand broke a spiderweb that was made between the pipe and the wall of the house. A billion spiders came crawling along my arm. My fear of spiders took over as I removed my left arm from its position to swipe away the creatures. I frantically tried to brush away the spiders as more and more crawled onto my arm. Then, I took my right hand off the pipe and my body started to fall backwards.

I felt my heart jump into my throat. Then I felt the collision of my back to the ground. All the breath I held in was knocked out of my lungs. I felt my eyes close, but I wasn't out. I laid there, catching my breath. All the pain hit me as I opened my eyes.

"Ah fuck" I moaned in pain, but not too loud, slowly rolling to my side and breathing into the grass.

"Ooo...what a fall." I heard a voice from the fence of my neighbor. I couldn't tell who it was by the voice alone, no matter how much they talked.

"Y'know you could've just used the doors- that's what they're for." this person was already frustrating me. I mumbled something into the ground that even I couldn't understand.

"What's that? You really shouldn't mumble." The annoying voice said.

I lifted my face from the grass and looked in the direction of the voice I heard. It was a boy who was maybe like 16 or so with short blonde hair and who wore a pair of glasses over his green eyes. "Who are you?" I asked.

The boy gave me a strange look, as if I was supposed to know the answer to my question, "I've been your neighbor for a while now. We even go to the same school."

Sounded like some bullshit to me.

"How come I've never seen you before?" I asked, looking over his features for the second time.

He shrugged, pushing up his glasses "I dunno, I see you around all the time, we've gone to the same schools since elementary."

I found that a bit strange. How could I live right next to someone and not see them the whole time? "What's your name?" I asked.

"Andrew." He said simply.

I closed my eyes and nodded, still laying on the ground. "Nice to meet you Andrew." I said, my eyes still closed. When I felt like I was good enough to stand, I did. I picked up my backpack from where it landed when I threw it, and started walking.
