Chapter 3

Mondo's expression faltered when he saw that Ishimaru winced at his actions. He let go of his shoulder and turned his attention back to the books on the desk.

"Just.. shut the fuck up about my gang." Mondo grumbled.

Awkward silence filled the room.

"Since a science test is coming up, I guess we should start with science." Ishimaru suggested.

"Wait.. there's a science test coming up?!"

Ishimaru glared at Mondo.

'THIS is one of the many reasons that you are failing in a lot of classes!' Ishimaru would've said, but he didn't have a death wish.

"Yes." Ishimaru deadpans.

Ishimaru grabbed the science book from the pile of books and opened it.

"So.. what part of the subject do you not understand?"

"Uh.. all of it?"

Ishimaru hums, "Then let's start from chapter one."

"It's late, I should go to sleep. You should too."

"Yeah, yeah, see ya."

The tutoring session didn't go as bad as Ishimaru thought.

Other than the fact that he almost died at least twice in the beginning, Mondo was actually determined to study about the materials. At least more determined than he thought.

'Maybe this could be a chance for me to befriend him?' he thought as he unlocked and entered his room while carrying his books.

'No, he's just desperate to not get expelled from Hope's Peak,' his mind interjected.

Ishimaru cringed at the negative thought. He placed his books back on his desk, neatly arranged based on the subject.

He winced again, suddenly remembering the most likely darkening bruise on his shoulder.

He was about to get ice to apply onto his bruise that he got from those.. delinquents. But he didn't since Mondo suddenly came up to him and asked Ishimaru to tutor him.

He could've declined his request and take care of the bruise but he couldn't stop himself from helping others to improve. Especially when it came from the SHSL Biker Gang Leader out of everyone.

Ishimaru's actions lead him to worsening the condition of his bruise because of said gang leader gripping his bruise earlier.

He only had himself to blame. It was his lack of filter that irritated Mondo anyways.

He changed into his pajamas and decided to sleep away the pain from his bruise.

But, he heard loud clattering outside when he was unbuttoning his uniform.

He immediately put his uniform back on and went out of his room to search for the source of the noise. It could be some delinquents vandalizing the school.

Mondo face-palmed as soon as Ishimaru left the room. He then flopped onto the bed on his back after he took off his jacket.

He really shouldn't have scared the guy. He gotta keep his temper in check. Ishimaru's his last hope of not getting expelled from Hope's Peak anyways.

If Mondo was honest to himself, he really wouldn't mind punching Ishimaru in the face for the comment he made about his gang. That lousy beta got the audacity to assume shit about his gang.

Mondo heard the muffled sound of Ishimaru's door opening and slamming shut.

Ishimaru was telling Mondo to go to sleep but he was going outside late at night? What a hypocrite.

~Timeskip to next morning~

Surprisingly, Mondo went to class early. Well, not exactly early, he wasn't late like usual. He just didn't want another session of scolding from Ishimaru.

Mondo went to sit on his table and Leon greeted him with a friendly smack on his shoulder.

"Yo! Mondo! Can't believe both of us actually got to class earlier than that hall monitor!" Leon said.

Mondo looked around to see that yes, Ishimaru was in fact, not in class. He did feel a bit proud of himself for being early than the goddamn Ultimate Moral Compass.

"Whoa.. yeah.. that's wack" Mondo grinned.

"Maybe he slept in? it's like, 2 minutes until school starts." Leon thought out loud.

"Didn't knew i'd see the day where Kiyotaka fucking Ishimaru slept in on a school day." Mondo laughed

Their conversation was cut off when the teacher entered the class. The whole class went back to their usual seats.

Ishimaru was actually fucking late. He could totally use this to make fun of him later.

The teacher continued teaching the subject from where they had left off before. Mondo didn't pay attention, Ishimaru could explain that crap at a later time.

It was PE and Ishimaru still hadn't appeared all day. Mondo was actually kind of worried.

He shouldn't really be worried about that right now. What he should be worried about was his most likely broken nose because of those damn bastards, Leon and Hagakure, were playing catch or something and the ball hit him right in the face.

Mondo stomped over to the nurse's office, still pissed off at Leon and Hagakure. He opened the door and was greeted by Mikan, the Ultimate Nurse. She approached Mondo while holding a bowl of water.

"H-hello Mond- kyaaa!" Mikan tripped over nothing (again) and fell down. The bowl went flying and the water inside splashed against the underside of Mondo's baggy pants.

Mondo ignored the cooling water on his pants and went to help Mikan.

"Hey, ya okay?" Mondo held a hand out for her to grab.

Mikan held his hand and stood up, "Y-yes! S-sorry about your pants! I c-can help drying it for you? Or-or maybe i can pay you for th-"

"Eh, it's okay. It's just water. I'll just let it dry on it's own." Mondo cut her off.

"Okay. Ah! Your nose is bleeding! Please lay down and prop your head up on one of the beds." Mikan said and went to get some ice.

"Alright," Mondo replied.

He went to go to one of the beds to find that one of them was occupied. He was sitting up straight and reading a book.

"Ishimaru?"

"Oowada?"
