Three Months Contract (On hold for a while)

Chapter 2

I looked at Rashi who was patiently waiting for me to answer her question and here I was just thinking about the consequences of her leaving me here all alone. I just drank a glass of water to calm myself down first and I said, "So are you going to leave me?"

She shakes her head and came a bit closer to me, she said, "No, I'm not leaving you Avni. It's just we are going to live there after we get married. So, please don't think that I'll be leaving you here and if I'll leave this place, I've decided to give you this house in the future."

To say that I was shocked would be an understatement, I looked at her while my face fell in shock and she said, "I'm telling you the truth, I was going to tell you about this on your birthday like four months later but then this happened and I thought that you should know about this now."

I looked at her and said, "But, it's huge. I never in my whole life thought this would happen Rashu!"

She gave me a concerned look and said, "Listen, I've known you since like the last three years and I trust you more than anyone in this whole world. I know that you are shocked by my decisions but I want you to know that you are more than just a tenant for me, Okay?"

I slightly nod my head and she sighs in relief. I know that it's huge news for me as she didn't tell me about this earlier but now I'll have to get used to it. We both then talked to each other for a while when I told her that my boss who is her boyfriend's friend came here to apologize on Shanaya's behalf and also told her the part of coming back to my job. She was happy about me coming back to my job but she was sad for him. She then said, "Shanaya did that! Oh, my god. I feel bad for Siddhanth. I meant I didn't think that she will do something like this to him."

I nod my head and she added, "I thought that she loves Siddhanth, the way she was always shouting at you made me think that she loves him but she wasn't. Now, my hatred towards her has grown. If I ever see her in the future, I'll slap her for this behavior."

I wasn't going to say anything about that as I knew that this was going to happen in one way or another. I know Shanaya more than anyone does and just by her behavior, I was sure that she should not be trusted. We both then talked to each other for a while and then I got a call on my mobile. I went towards where I've kept my phone and I saw that it's from Mom. I excused myself and took the phone call in the bedroom. The moment I answered the call, I heard her croaky voice, "Avantika. Is that you?"

"Yes, mom. It's me. What happened?"

For a few seconds, there was a pin drop silence from the other side of the phone but a few minutes later, I heard her saying, "Avu, I need some money for admitting your dad. The hospital is shifting him to another hospital and I don't have that much money. I used all the money I had for buying his medicines but now as they are going to shift him to another hospital, they first want me to pay them, and then they will do the further procedure."

I put the phone on my other ear and went towards my safe, while mom added, "I know that you might not be able to afford to send us more money but, they aren't going to shift him to the other hospital until we give them the payment."

"Hmm," I replied to her, and then I saw some money that I have been saving for an emergency.

"Mom, I'm going to send you some money on your account now or can you tell me the name of the hospital so that I can online transfer it into their account," I said to her.

While she was thinking about it, I went towards the living room and gestured to Rashi to count the money I had for an emergency. Rashi was counting the money when I heard mom say, "I've asked Hospital and they want cash only. What should I do?"

"Then I will send money to your account, as soon as possible. I'll call you as soon as I send the money, Okay?" I told her and she said, "Avni, please don't take stress, everything will be alright, okay? Bye."
