Rebirth: Living Well In The Apocalypse

Prologue(?)

"Dying twice in a hopeless world of chaos is already so tiring. Why put me back?"

His parents are zombies, his friends are traitors, and even his cat left him. A bitter life in the apocalypse where it's either kill or be killed is something not the rich young master of the Vallon Family can handle. Sure, he was a medical and scientific research prodigy. But he was only a surgeon with low combat experience whatsoever.

July 4th of 2035 was the day darkness fully embraced the world. An eclipse cloaking the world black, not even led lights can help you. After that, the following months of natural disasters and confusion made everyone frightened. But not long after the end December 24th,  would the world be decorated like hell's kitchen.

Lucian Vallon was amongst those who were frightened and confused. He fully anticipated a warm, jolly christmas with his family to relieve the tension and fear of the chain of disasters happening. Not expecting his maids and butlers suddenly drop and rise one night, rushing at others to devour the living.

Rotting flesh, open, salivating jaws, glossed eyes, and reaching claws. As a recently experienced surgeon, most gory sights won't affect him. But the fact that even the dead cannot rest in peace scares him.

Lucian has never been religious. But the scenes of the helpless makes him want to kneel and beg for whoever god listens to him. Praying for a miracle to happen, that this was all a nightmare.

Alas, fate was cruel to him...

Painstakingly avoiding death for 5 years yet his parents still succumbed to the mouths of these monsters, his allies leaving him after using him for all he's worth. Wasted a can of tuna for a cat only for it to leave the next morning. Seeing hope at a newly established home filled with fellow survivors, activating abilities, and fighting for humanity's survival. Only to be tortured by sadistic scientists and thrown to a horde of zombies for being "useless".

Living mindlessly as a zombie, he got painlessly killed with his eyes still open.

In a moment of clarity, he rested in the darkness. Thinking that he can finally be at peace.

Only to open his eyes again...
