Jäger sat in the waiting room, head down and helmet and goggles in hand. He looked down at his helmet, fiddling with the fabric, clearly scared. He had sat there for hours after the mission, waiting patiently for anything. Jäger was starting to dread the visit from the doctor who was supposed to update people on loved one's conditions. He could never remember the name. The sound of doors opening caught his attention and he looked in the direction, to his right, there stood Blitz and IQ. They were both in casual clothing and IQ seemed to be balling her eyes out, while Blitz's eyes were red and puffy but his chest was puffed out like it always was. He had to pretend everything was okay even if it wasn't, him and Bandit held the GSG 9 part of Rainbow together. They were the reason that Jäger and IQ hadn't snapped yet. IQ could be hard and cold, and seemed like it during missions, but she was as soft as Jäger.
Jäger looked at them with a tear stained, and emotionless face. Blitz gently placed his arm around IQ as they walked toward their friend, Jäger stood up to meet them halfway. Blitz put his arm out and Jäger moved under it, Blitz pulled both IQ and Jäger together. All of them had their arms on each other's shoulders, holding on tight and crying.
"Er ist okay..." Blitz whispered, tears slipping down his face as he held onto the two older Germans like his life depended on it.
It was something they did, hold onto each other, when a friend was hurt in the hospital or even dead. All of the Germans would come together and hold each other tight, convincing themselves that everything was going to be okay and that they'd move forward together. This time was different, Bandit had gotten hurt yes, but never this severely. None of them would deny the fact that they were all scared to death that Bandit could possibly die from his injuries. Out of all of them, they would all agree Jäger would be impacted the most, even out of all of the operators in Rainbow, Jäger would be devastated. That's why he was crying his heart out and holding onto Blitz and IQ with a death grip. He couldn't lose Bandit, he would probably end up in the same state, dyeing, if Bandit died. Everyone knew that Bandit and Jäger were extremely close and if one died, the other will too. If Jäger were to die, Bandit wouldn't hesitate to kill himself for him, but for Jäger, he would see if he would have a fighting chance. Meaning, he would sit on the topic of suicide for a few months before finally concluding that it was the way to go. He would always sit on a topic before concluding it was a good thing to do, though he knew it only delayed the inevitable. He knew he'd give in and kill himself if Bandit died, especially under his watch.
The guilt was eating away at Jäger as he held onto his friends, all three of them were whispering sweet nothings in German to each other. They were convincing themselves that everyone was okay when it wasn't.
Just then the doctor walked in and Jäger was the first to break the hug, dropping his arms and turning around. IQ and Blitz looked up when Jäger dropped his arms, seeing the doctor. All three were standing there in front of the doctor, looking like three lost kids wondering if their mother was okay. Jäger had an extremely red face, he was also wearing Bandit's jacket, which was now soaked with Jäger's tears. Blitz had fresh tears streaming down his face as he held a shaking IQ who was hiding her face in his side, clutching his shirt.
"You guys speak fluent English, ja? I'm not explaining this in a language I barely know." The doctor stated.
"Yes we do." Blitz said back, his accent was heavy.
"Good, Dominic is in stable condition.." The doctor started.
Jäger's heart warmed at that and he smiled a bit but it soon dropped and his eyes widened.
"But... His condition is critical. He has lost a lot of blood and we are performing a blood transplant to save him. His chances of survival are about 93.9% and right now his body is accepting the new blood so he will be okay." The Doctor smiled.
Jäger walked forward toward the doctor and smiled brightly.
"Thank you." He cried.
"Just doing my job." The Doctor smiled back.

Months flew by in a blur to Jäger. He walked back into the hospital for the umpteenth time that month, heading to the familiar room. The nurses had let him by without any word because they had seen it too many times and grew tired of it. He had slowly grown less hopeful that Bandit would wake up from his coma. It had been 5 months and Jäger was already contemplating taking his life, the only thing keeping him from not slicing his wrists and joining his friend in a coma was that somewhere in the mind of this lifeless man, was Bandit. Struggling to get free, to fight, to wake up. Bandit was never as mentally strong as the others but he always came out on top when it came to his internal battles, Jäger knew this because he was there every single time Bandit was struggling. He made sure to give him space when he needed it, and to give him everything he ever wanted. It was no secret that Jäger loved Bandit, more than a friend, but he would only ever wait for Bandit to tell him. He would want confirmation as to what Bandit thinks.
Jäger sat down in the uncomfortable plastic chair on the right side of Bandit's bed. He took his friend's hand into his and intertwined their fingers, Bandit's hand was oddly warmer today than it was any other day. Jäger looked up toward Bandit's face, studying his feature. He looked more alive, like he was really fighting, like he wanted to come home. At this moment, Jäger used both his hands to cover Bandit's one. Jäger bent down further and rested his head on Bandit's chest, feeling his heartbeat.
"Sie werden dies gewinnen..." Jäger whispered as he felt Bandit's chest rise and fall, he moved back quickly.
Bandit seemed to groan a bit before he slowly opened his eyes, closing his tight at the blinding hospital light, but trying to open them again. He succeeded in opening his eyes and looked down at his hand, feeling the warmth of the other hand on his own. He trailed the arm up to Jäger's face and his eyes widened.
"M-Marius?" Bandit questioned, shocked.
"Dominic!" Jäger practically screamed and hugged his counterpart.
"Ughh.... Where the hell am I?" Bandit groaned, hugging Jäger back.
"The hospital, you've been in a coma for about 5 months." Jäger explained.
"I got so worried I would see you again, I felt so lonely, I was even thinking of joining you. I didn't want you to go through this fight alone, I-" Jäger said, but was cut off by Bandit putting both his hands on his face and staring into his eyes, a pained expression on his face.
"You were thinking about killing yourself!?!" Bandit whisper yelled.
"Well... I wasn't kidding when I said I would die for you Bandit." Jäger cried, tears falling from his eyes and dripping onto Bandit's hands.
