Taeyong ran to the car to try and dig up a weapon, Jaehyun having been the only one to manage an attack so far. All he had was a machete that Johnny had picked up from the city, slowly hacking at each shape as they began crowing in. How had they not noticed this? Taeyong felt so stupid- he's the one that basically discredited this whole attack, and now they were going to suffer for it.
He made it to the van as Haechan was trying to dislodge something from underneath one of the bins. Yanking on it, he tumbled backwards, finally managing to get his hands on it. Taeyong looked at it, realizing that it was simply a baseball bat. He paused, looking as if he was going to turn to try and find another appendage.
"We don't have time! Just use that!" Taeyong said frantically, practically pushing him out of the ay to slide his arm through a crevice into a bin.
"I- I can't! How will this even work?"
"Figure it out!" Taeyong was still struggling to find a weapon. Why wasn't everything organized? Shit... He groped around as Doyoung ran by, shouting something into his walkie-talkie. Taeil was doing his best to throw stuff into the cars, but he was inadvertently fighting against the people trying to pull weapons out. Yuta was the first to manage to find a gun, bringing it out to fight alongside Jaehyun.
Jungwoo was starting towards the van, about to take his turn attempting to find a weapon, but WinWin grabbed him by the shoulder.
"This is the perfect opportunity to give this a test run." He pressed, gesturing to the new batch. Jungwoo was confused for a moment, then shook his head.
"No. Absolutely not. Things like this aren't meant to be used in dire situations-"
"Then when are we supposed to use them? It's a mess out there, we're barely holding up. You need to get Mark into the smaller car in case we take off. His safety has to be a priority."
"I agree, but I can't risk your life on that notion."
"You're not risking anything! I'll handle it!"
"I said no-" as Jungwoo said this, WinWin snaked his arm around to grab it, tearing off towards the group as he basically poured it on himself. Jungwoo tried to run after him, only to be met with vague shouts regarding what to do with Mark. He was left with a difficult decision... It would be possible to stop WinWin at this point, but if he left Mark alone, the boy would be completely defenseless. At least WinWin was aware...
Feeling as though he had no choice, he hooked his arm under Mark's knees, quickly bringing him to the backseat of the silver car. After this, he began loading up medical supplies as quickly as possible while watching the others. Taeyong had finally managed to find a knife, which was honestly the best he could do as he started slashing. Jaehyun was getting strangely good at it, while Haechan was still freaking out about having to bash heads in with a baseball bat. It was overall quite a disgusting sight. As WinWin rushed onto the battlefield, though, things got even crazier.
"What the hell do you think you're doing?!" Jaehyun demanded, putting his blade through a zombie's eye as he looked over.
"Trying something!"
"With no weapon?! Your'e insane, just get back-" Jaehyun started to argue as WinWin approached a zombie.
"Just trust me!" As the zombie walked towards WinWin, the group looked on in horror, almost too distracted to fight their own opposers. They all held their breath as it walked, and walked, and- passed him?
"How did you do that?!" Taeyong asked incredulously as the thing now began to make its way towards the rest of them in a much more threatening manner.
"Jungwoo made a cloaking smell, it seems like it works, too!"
"That's awesome!" Haechan shouted, grin on his face.
"Calm down, we're not out of the deep end yet." Jaehyun warned him as he was almost bitten. They had dealt with about half of the initial group, but clearly there were more on the way. As he said this, they began to hear a distant ringing.
"What the hell is that?" Haechan asked. It sounded like church bells. They all turned their heads to the West, where it seemed to be sounding from. Over the horizon, they could just barely make out the form of another horde... Not just a horde, a giant mass of writhing bodies, all making their way towards the group.
"Yuta, give me your gun!" WinWin demanded. "You help go back everything up!"
"I'll go as well." Taeyong said, handing him a knife.
"I'll hold them off, pick me up as soon as we're mobile."
"I'll stay to help." Jaehyun offered as well, earning one solemn nod from him. Haechan seemed like he didn't want to continue fighting, but he didn't really have an option as he dealt with another slow one. It took longer than they would have liked to pack everything up, as there was no system or means of organization among the boxes. Taeyong was silently cursing himself for his poor leadership as he continued packing. Jungwoo quickly informed him that Mark was safe, promising to follow him as soon as they were rolling.
Finally, just as the horde was starting to overwhelm them, they finished, Taeil starting the black van with a loud revving of the engine. Hearing it, the three still fighting turned, watching with a bit of panic as they pulled up. Jumping in, they shut the door as the zombies followed, turning tail and screeching away from the camp.
"Any contact with Johnny?" Jaehyun asked.
"We haven't had the chance. He's the one that warned-" Taeyong started, but then swallow, correcting himself, "Tried to warn us about this to begin with. I'm sure he's already on the move. Just head the opposite direction from the horde." They watched out the back window as the zombies faded into the distance.
