DAUGHTER OF ICE
CHAPTER TWO
TRYING TO GAIN TRUST

Crystal had been at Aslan's camp for two days when she noticed a commotion going on outside. Oreus happened to be running by her tent so she stopped him and asked what was going on. "The white witch is here!" Oreus shouted over his shoulder as he continued to run. Crystal went back into the tent to get her father.

"Father!" she exclaimed, running up to him.

"I know, child," Aslan said. She nodded, she had guessed that he had known, he just wanted people to remain calm. "Now, come with me, let's make out first appearance to her as father and daughter!" he smiled at her, and she smiled back.

What Jadis saw coming out of the tent surprised her. She did not expect Crystal's eyes to go back to the golden color they once were. She couldn't help but gasp. "Hello, Jadis," Crystal greeted.

"How dare you address your mother by her first name!" Jadis growled.

"But you aren't my mother, are you?" Crystal smirked. Jadis glared daggers at her when she noticed that Aslan was standing right next to her.

"What do you want, Jadis?" Aslan growled, the kind glint in his eye had all but vanished.

"You have a traitor in your midst," Jadis announced. Everyone gasped. Then they all calmed down when they saw that she was pointing at Edmund. "He shared secrets about this camp with me!" This caused Crystal to laugh, and everyone to swivel their heads towards her.

"It seems the only thing we have in our midsts is a liar that we all wish to get rid of!" Crystal announced. "You were complaining a couple minutes before I left that Edmund had told you absolutely nothing! You want to know why? Because he knew nothing!" a few from the witches army gasped at the nerve of this once shy girl.

"I...I..." Jadis actually stumbled over her words. She did not anticipate this. Once she regained her bearings, she spoke. "I wish for a meeting with Aslan and Crystal!" Peter stepped forward then, sword drawn.

"You are not getting to Aslan!" he growled. Crystal had grown to respect this boy, she thought that he might have even trusted her, but her thoughts were proved wrong when Peter only defended Aslan. Crystal and Aslan looked at each other and nodded.

"Stand down, your majesty, it is alright," Crystal cooed. "We agree, Jadis, come forth and the meeting shall take place!" she called. The white witch stepped into the tent and was closely followed by Aslan who was closely followed by Crystal. What they spoke of for hours on end I will not tell you, for you must find out for yourself. After many hours Jadis walked briskly out of the tent. She was soon followed by the lion and his daughter, both in their lion/lioness forms. "King Edmund's life wil be spared!" Crystal announced once they were all out of the tent. The narnians burst out into cheers, but Lucy and Susan, maybe even Peter and Edmund, could notice the sadness in her eyes. But if Peter noticed it, he payed no mind.

"What's wrong?" Lucy asked as Edmund and Susan followed closely behind her. This was after the narnians had gone back to work and Jadis was gone. Crystal whispered something in their ears and they all glared at Peter.

"What?" Peter asked. They all just gave him death glares when finally Susan spoke up.

"I hope your happy Peter!" she spat and they all walked away.

"I'm sorry your majesty! If I had known they would react that way I would not have told them! Please forgive me!" Crystal gave him a saddened look.
