The Tenth Order (Book I)

Prologue

“Sige pre una na ko” a boy said while walking out the classroom. In the classroom Sean is the only person who’s still present, he’s writing the essay that needed to be passed tomorrow. 

After an hour of writing, he straightens his back and attempt to stretch his body then sighing

“Bakit ba kasi kailangan ko pang maging working student” he said loudly, then grab his phone and look at the miss calls in his phone labeled ‘Tita Ganda’ and frowned.

He taps the miss calls and rings his tita.

“Kailan kaba dadating! There are a lot of costumers - kailangan mong dumating dito ng  mabilis if not I am going to cut your allowance again!”.

“Ok tita I am I am going to arrive in - he looks at his phone - 6:30, kung hindi traffic”.

“Trust me if hindi ka aabot within an hour you know the consequence”.  

Sean hurriedly stands up and gathers his belongings, while grabbing his notebook at the far end of the table his pen falls. He looks at the pen and frowned unhappily. 

“Why does it have to be this hard,”  he said with a blank expression.

Then he docks and grabs the pen when suddenly he saw a crack underneath it with a glowing white light. He frowns and thought if there is another floor beneath him, 

“Nandito na ako sa first floor so what causes the light in this crack, wait, such crack must be deep if light penetrates the whole floor”

Then suddenly the crack begins to spread like a crack in a frozen lake. The crack spreads bigger and bigger while he’s walking backward away from the crack, eventually, he reaches the wall and there is no space he can go to, with the spreads of the crack the lights also begin to shone intensely. Finally, the crack stops, and the light begins to dim, Sean then comes back from his senses and look at the door which was on the opposite side, he tries to walk carefully with every step a light penetrating his shoes. 

He was nearing the door when suddenly the origin of the crack which was his pen falls burst. Then a creature crawls from the crack with its fist as big as a human head, not only that, there is a lot of spikes in its hands looking as sharp as a knife. 

Sean is hysteric by the appearance of the creature. The creature lifted itself and its whole body is as tall as the room, the color of the creature matched with its viciousness, black and red. Sean was shaking because of its look and started to run away fastly. 

The creature's eye is glowing with a red light, its body is filled with muscles and spikes. Thanks to its size it needed to destroy every door to go out hence slowing it down. Even though Sean was on the first floor, he needed to run 10 rooms away to the entrance of the building.  But the creature is fast, even with the doors and its height hinder its way it still breaks the wall like a bunch of legos. The creature was getting closer to Sean but even with that, the gap between them is slowly reducing. 

"Fuck! What the hell is happening!" he shouts amidst him hyperventilating. 

"Is this the end of the world? Am I dreaming? no that's a stupid question to ask! I needed to get out here right now!" 

Eventually, he reaches the entrance and looks back at the creature that is slowly closing to him.  "Pano ba ito tumakbo ng mabilis with its humungous body?" 

Fortunately, the building was deserted so no other people would be hurt, but unfortunately, he will be the only one killed by the creature.

"But even if the building is empty, why does it feel like I am the only person here?" he looked around while running and he couldn't see any people. 

After running for a minute he looks back and was surprised to see the creature stops pursuing him. He looks at the creature carefully but it didn't even look at him, it was very focused on doing something to the ground, it looks like planting its spike in its hand to the ground. 

Then a crack was spreading in the spike planted, it looks like the crack when the creature burst from. Sean comes into the realization "is it summoning its kind?"
