"Welcome to Chicago" The sign read.

I let out a small sigh. 58 long years have passed and not once have I ever stepped foot on Chicago, not since I was turned into a vampire.
I will never forget the night I was turned.

It was around midnight in the empty streets of Chicago , I had just left an underground nightclub and out of nowhere a man came up to me asking for cash. Me being the generous and kind person I am I quickly put my hands in my pocket and panicked as soon as I figured out I didn't have my wallet anymore. "Crap, sorry man I have to go get look for my wallet " I said turning back to the nightclub.

"Oh well, you can still give me something else though." The man said displaying his sharp teeth.

Of course I ran, any human with a brain would run, but of course the vampire caught me and sucked all my blood, and I'm not sure why but right before I passed out I saw him bite his finger and put it up to my bite wound. I've never tested this theory but I guess that's how you turn someone into a vampire. I don't plan on testing my theory any time soon either.

Unlike most vampires I survive on animal blood, although every once in a while I raid the hospital closest to me for blood bags.

I would be surprised to see how much Chicago has changed but I haven't been living under a rock, I've been changing and adapting as technology changed and advanced.

When I was a teenager my mother bought me my very first camera and ever since photography had been one of my many passions. After many miscarriages my mother had me, she said I was a "gift from god". After me she lost the ability to have children so I became an only child. My father was an alcoholic who always got home drunk and half asleep. One night he had one drink too much and fell down the staircase to reach our apartment.

For a while after I had turned I didn't know what had happened to my mother. All I thought about was how she would think I was a monster, a demon. My mother was extremely religious and not very open minded. And so I ran, I ran as fast as I could I went from Chicago to New York in less than 10 hours. New York was where I first lived.

I went to college for graphic design and then I moved to Dallas, then California, Colorado, Maryland, I even flew to England for a few decades. But now I'm here and I have a strange feeling that something's going to happen. Wether it's good or bad
I can't wait.
