Today, the morning of May 17th, I was awoken by the rows of light streaming out from behind my curtains filling my room with the warm glow of the sun. Excitement filled my body as I bolted out of bed, as today is my eleventh birthday.

I rushed downstairs to find the recently delivered post sitting on the coffee table. Carefully, I riffled through the many unopened envelopes in search of one bearing the Hogwarts emblem. Just as I thought, the freshly sealed letter was hidden under the pile of unread copies of the daily prophet. I quickly ripped open the envelope and read it aloud.

" Dear Miss Atlas Dolohov, we are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry".

Included in the letter were directions on when the term started, a supply list, and how to find the Hogwarts Express. Though I didn't need that last part, every child in the wizarding world knew how to find the infamous platform 9 3/4.

Squealing with excitement, I quickly ran to where my parents were sitting in the living room. They immediately jumped up to congratulate me and hugged me tightly. "Your father and I are so proud of you!" My mother exclaimed.

Once again I felt the rush of excitement come over me as I asked "Does this mean we get to go to Diagon Alley?"

"Well, of course, Diagon Alley is where your mother and I got all of our supplies when we received our letters." Answered my father.

It was weird seeing him this happy, ever since he got out of Azkaban he's been acting really suspicious and doesn't smile often. But then again, I never really knew what he was like before he was sentenced to prison. Based on what I've heard he sounded like he was a terrible man being a death eater and all.
