Once across the lake, we walked into the amazing castle. A professor by the name Minerva McGonagall told us what to expect as we entered the great hall waiting to be sorted into one of the four houses. Coming from a long line of Slytherins, I was hoping to be sorted in Slytherin. After all, I am more deceiving and cunning than people think.
Several people were called and sorted into their houses. Then it happened. I heard professor McGonagall call my name. I slowly but proudly made my way up to where she was standing and sat on the chair just in front of her. McGonagall placed the sorting hat on my head and it began to speak. After about 30 seconds of talking the sorting hat called out "Slytherin!". I heard the table clap and cheer as I made my way towards them. I sat down next to Pansy and continued to watch the rest of the first years get sorted.
Professor McGonagall called out for Harry Potter and the entire room fell silent anxious to hear what fate the hat would decide for him. I personally don't understand all the commotion around him. I mean he didn't really do anything. He just seems cocky and arrogant. After careful deliberation, the hat decided Gryffindor would be the best fit for Harry. I was quite ok with that. I didn't really want Harry in my house anyway.
After what felt like hours the sorting finally came to an end and the feast began.
