that day at walmart
was one of the best
I replay the events in my head over and over
I was looking for the lamp section but couldn't find it.
an employee comes up to me and asks, "do you need help with anything?"
I looked at him surprised. How did he know I needed help?
"I do actually. I need to find a lamp for my room but I can't seem to find them."
He looks at me.
"Oh, that's in aisle 14. I'll show you the way."
I follow him into the aisle. He turns around and looks deep into my eyes.
"Um, what are you doing...?"
I don't know his name so I look at his name tag
"Liam?"
He continues to look me in the eyes.
"Baby you light up my world like nobody else"
Liam says as he turns a lamp on.
I'm shocked. Do employees always flirt with customers like this?
"The way that you flip your hair gets me overwhelmed" he continues.
"Wait what?"
Liam pulls out a guitar from the bottom of the shelves.
"You don't know-oh-oh, you don't know you're beautiful"
I stand there shocked, unable to move. Is he serenading me? What do I do?
He leans in to kiss me but I pull back. I can't do it. Not like this.
I run crying out of the store and don't stop until I'm in my car and drove all the way home.
Now I'm lying here in my bed with no lamp and a hole in my heart. If only I had handled the situation better and kissed him I would've had a lamp and a boyfriend. I start crying and wonder if I'll ever see Liam from Walmart ever again.
