chapter 1: the letter

i realize it's supposed to say mum but i'm used to typing mom sadly so yea sorry!!

"y/n honey! come here" my mom yelled from down stairs. i quickly got up and walked to the top of the staircase. i hopped onto the railing and slid down. my mom handed me a letter, smiling happily.

"hogwarts-" my eyes went wide and i didn't let her finish.

"OMG!" i opened it carefully, trying not to rip anything. as i finished reading the letter, i ran upstairs and slammed my door shut. i rushed over to my desk and pulled out parchment paper.

i started writing a letter to my best friends, who happen to be twins.

dear Fred and George,

guess what i got today!! i got my letter for Hogwarts! i can't wait! i'll finally be able to go to the same school as you! see you soon boys! love you:)

a few years ago, when i was younger, we went to diagon alley so my mom and dad could meet up with their friends, molly and arthur weasley. they needed some stuff for one of their kids. when we got there, i saw two red heads goofing off behind Mr. and Mrs. Weasley. Mrs. Weasley introduced me to both of them and we hit it off right away, becoming best friends. we haven't seen each other in a few months, due to me always being busy. i always had to go to balls, or over to some other people's houses for unknown reasons.

i went over to the family owl, butterscotch, and sent off the letter. i ran downstairs and hugged my mom.

"i love you!" i said grinning.

"i love you too." she laughed. we walked to the kitchen to see a bunch of food being made by three house elves. they work so hard and they never get a break. i feel bad for them.

"hi kirk! hi pixie! hi slink!"

"hello, y/n!" the three replied smiling. my mom and i go easy on them, unlike father.

"mom, why is there a lot more food than normal?" i questioned, raising my eyebrow.

"the Malfoys are coming over." she smirked at me, knowing what i'm about to say.

"DOES THAT MEAN DRACO TOO!?" i shouted excitedly.

"yes, he-" my mom got cut off my the doorbell. she glanced over at me before going to get the door. i followed close behind her. when she opened the door i saw a familiar platinum blonde boy.

"DRAY!!!" i yelled running the rest of the way to him. i kissed him on the cheek, then wrapped him in a hug like normal. my face grew red even though i usually kiss him on the cheek.

"heyyy n/n," he said kissing the top of my head. "how's my princess?" i pulled away and smiled at him.

"better now that the prince is here." i laughed.
Draco Malfoy is my childhood best friend. when we were younger we both wanted to be royalty. we argued over who would royalty and who would be a civilian. eventually, we came to the conclusion that i'd be princess and he'd be prince. every since then, we would always call each other "prince" or "princess" at least once when we saw each other.

The Malfoys hate a bunch of things. like Muggles, mud-bloods, blood traitors, and a lot more. they hated the Weasleys. now seeing as my family is friends with both, is very difficult. the Weasleys know we're nothing like them so they're fine with us being friends with them. the Malfoys are only fine with it because they think we're trying to "get on everyone's good side" so we don't have any enemies.

we ate dinner and our parents went to talk in the living room while me and Draco went up to my bedroom.

"wow princess!" Draco whispered in awe while looking around my room.

"wow what?" i asked.

"your room is bloody brilliant!" he replied. he walked around my (f/c) room, picking up some objects and setting them back down. he walked over to my wall that is 25% covered in pictures of me and my friends. there's about 15 pictures of me and the twins, 30 pictures of me and draco, and 2 of my friend Hermione Granger, who i met on a trip to the muggle world.

all of a sudden, butterscotch came flying to my window.

"that was quick." i muttered before tearing the envelope open.

Dear Pranking Queen,

we are so excited for you to join us at hogwarts! once we get there we'll have to prank the other students- and teachers!

in case you're worried about having other friends besides us and Malfoy, we just wanted to let you know it's our little brothers first year also! maybe you guys can be friends!

in less than 10 years you'll be married to each other anyways!

we're only joking, so wipe that look of disgust off your face!

i quickly changed my facial expression. how'd they know? i continued reading the letter.

mom says you should come to diagon alley with us!! ask your mom and owl us back!

ps: next time make your letter longer!
