Childhood Besties or more?

Chapter 2

When we arrived I jumped out of the car before the chauffeur could even walk close to the door. Draco looked at me like I was insane.

"Why are you so excited?"

"Because I don't know I just am"

"Well turn it down a little cuz people are staring"

    "Fine"

As we walked down the main road I tried my hardest to cover up my excitement. I saw so many stores. Our parents decided to go to Gringotts bank while they sent me and Draco off to get some ice cream from Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour. We walked in and sat down at a booth in the corner.

    "What ice cream do you want?"

    "I'll take chocolate and mint chip on a cup"

    "Okay I'll get them"

    "Thank youuuu" I said in a singsong voice.

As he walked over to the counter I noticed that he was wearing his dark jeans and a green T-shirt. It's because we both know that we're gonna be in Slytherin, no doubt in our minds. All of our friends, Crabbe, Goyle, and Pansy are going to be. We've talked about it ever since I could remember. Crabbe and Goyle are two chubbier looking boys even at age 10. They are really good friends and sure love to eat. They do give some good advice and are always there when I need them. Pansy is the only other girl in our group aside from me. We all know she's obsessed with Draco, even he knows. I think he keeps her around to feed his ego but at least I have someone to be at least a bit girly with. She has short, dark brown hair and is honestly so sweet but can be a total bitch if you get on her bad side. You don't wanna get on any of our bad sides because the whole group will come for you.

    "Here's your ice cream"

    "Thanks" I smile up at him and he hands me my cup.

I stuff my face with the top scoop of mitch chocolate chip. It's my favorite flavor ever, also Draco's. Apparently I had some on my nose which was why Draco couldn't stop laughing at me. I wiped it off and said

    "You really couldn't have told me, what would you just let me walk out of here like that"

    "Well I wouldn't have let it get that far, oh well okay maybe," he said as he burst out laughing once again.

After a couple of minutes, we see our parents outside waving at us. We walk out and join our parents once again.

    "Do you guys have your school material list?" Narcissa asks

    "Yeah I got it right here" Draco takes it out of his pocket.

    "Let's get shoppin" I exclaim

We decide to go get our wands as the last thing because it's totally the coolest.

Apparently our father had to do something else because they left in a hurry. But first, we went and got the rest of our equipment. When we were in Madam Malkins to get our robes fitted a scrawny looking boy walked in by himself and looked so confused. Madam Malkin rushed him over to the fitting spot next to mine. He had brown messy hair and clothes that were way too big on him. Draco looks over at me with a judgemental look and nudges his head towards the boy. After giving him a quick smirk I tell him to cut it out with a quick movement of my hand across my neck. He laughed out loud.

    "Ow you poked me with the needle," I told Madam Malkin.

    "Yeah because you moved, now stay still and quiet."

I rolled my eyes but shut my mouth.
After two long hours, we were finally done with Madam Malkins and we could finally get our wands. Ollivanders was completely empty when we walked in.

    "Is anyone even here?" Draco asked out loud

Not even one second later an older man comes and runs behind the counter.

    "Ahh you must be a Malfoy and a Vritra"

    "How could you tell?" I ask because we have never met this man before.

    "I can feel it"

I and Draco give each other the eyes and look back at him.

    "Were here to get our wands?" Darco says

    "Well why else would you be here, let me check the back really fast"

First, he gave Draco a couple of wands but the one that "chose" him was a two-color mostly plain wand. The part where you hold onto it was a dark shade of wood and then there were two rims and the rest was a lighter colored wood. His wand was made of hawthorn wood and had a unicorn hair core. Finally, it was my turn to get my wand. The first one he gave me was actually really ugly and I put it back right away because I didn't want it.

    "Remember the wand has to choose you"

    "I know, I know"

The next wand he gave me was decent but when I waved it around the light exploded so he told me to put it down before I did any more damage.

    "She's a powerful one," Olivander said under his nose.

    "Excuse me, I didn't hear what you said.

    "Oh I said let me find you another"

The third one didn't even do anything when I waved it around. Suddenly a light came from a wand on the shelf and Ollvander grabbed it and handed it to me. It was a beautiful wand. It started off from a blackened and was gradient all the way to the light tip. The whole wand had a pretty vine type wrap around it. Before Ollivander could tell me to wave it around it started shining a warm light around the room and I could feel a connection but I couldn't explain it. Ollivander told me it was also a unicorn hair core but the wand itself was made from Aspen wood. We purchased our wands and walked out of the store to meet all of our parents standing outside.

    "We have a surprise for you both!" My mom exclaimed

    "Well, what is it!" I said excitedly.

Our dads took out big looking boxes from behind their backs and handed them to us. I and Draco looked at each other and quickly opened the boxes. They were the brand new model Nimbus 2000 brooms.

    "We know the both of you are hoping to be on the quidditch team when you are able to try out so we got you these for practice," My dad said.

    "Oh my, thank you!" I yell at my parents and tackle them with a hug.

Draco instead awkwardly thanked his parents and stood by them. He has a love and hate relationship with his parents, mostly Lucius which is why he spends so much time at our house. After our surprise, we went to get food at the Leaky Cauldron and by the time we finished, it was dark outside. We got back home at around 8:30 and I had to get ready for bed because tomorrow I got to pack for Hogwarts. I ran upstairs with all of my school supplies and our house elf Jackie followed me with my new broom. We put everything down on the couch in my room and I got ready to sleep. I put on my silky green pj's, laid down in my huge bed and I was out like a light.
