Me and the knight were standing by, clearly afraid, and prepared to fight for our lives. And Mala, apparently noticed that. "If you are worried about my intentions, don't be. I hold no grudge over the death of the soul master." Me and the knight, relaxed a little. "He attacked you, and you defended yourselves." Mala clarified.
Mala continued their speech. "I simply happened to notice that the abyss had been opened, and decided to revisit my place of birth... if you can call it birth." I knew that Mala meant the creation of vessels, through the king's experiments, but the knight clearly didn't.
Mala didn't bother to expand further. Instead, they once again offered their assistance. "As the soul sanctum has fallen completely to this infection, I have nowhere to turn. Perhaps I can join your journey to rid Hallownest of the infection?" I was shocked that Mala knew what we were doing, and the knight probably was too, but I could never tell. Expressionless faces are like that.
We wasted no time deliberating, and accepted Mala's request. They seemed happy to join us. Even vessels get lonely, I guess.
Shortly after Mala joined us, we all made our way out of the abyss, and back into the main basin. The knight, suddenly stopped, turning in the direction of the broken vessel we had already killed. Like a flash, they took off; bounding over shadow creepers, slicing through infection bubbles, and dashing over spikes.
By the time we caught up, the knight was standing over the corpse, looking up at something. They handed me the dream nail to see, and I quickly realized what the knight had done. The lost kin was looking down at us. It said nothing, as it could not speak. However, the vessel seemed to be at peace. They looked into the heavens, and disappeared. I handed the knight the dream nail, and they put it away.
Clearly, the knight was going after the dream bosses. And they already had the first. With the remaining dream bosses, and warrior ghosts, we could enter the white palace. Fun. But for now, all that mattered, was leaving.
Another chapter comes to a close! I'm sure you can see where this is going by now. But if you don't know where I'm going, I won't spoil it for you. I'd also like to start something that I'll call The Hollow Knight Showcase, or THKS, for short. Every four chapters, I'm going to spotlight some other good hollow knight stories. First, I'd like to shine a light on "Vessels and Tears". I've been obsessed with this story from the very beginning, and it inspired me to write this story. As of right now, it's still in progress, but the reader insert is fantastic, giving me plenty to read. Oh, by the way, Ask the Vessels, is a thing I'm doing now. If you have any questions, or even just want to know their opinions on certain things, check it out. Any of my vessels can answer, and It's just going to be a lot of fun. See you in the next chapter!

FantasyThis is a hollow knight self insert. I'm doing my best to make it as accurate as possible, and there are MAJOR spoilers. If you don't like self inserts, or haven't finished Hollow Knight yet, this story isn't for you. Otherwise, it's a bit comedic...
