SURPRISE

AUTHOR'S POV - 

The team cut the call with MSD and went towards the team room, making a huge ruckus in the  hotel corridors by randomly ringing the bells of different hotel rooms and making a lot of noise. They reached the team room in 10 minutes though is was only 2 minutes away from Virat's room. 

"What made you take half an hour for a two minute route from your rooms to the team room?" Sourav asked strictly. 

"But we just left 10 minutes back." Yuzi said. 

"I sent the message half an hour back." Sourav said. 

"Sorry sir" the team said together.

"We were talking to Mahi bhai and we didnt realize how the time passed and we didnt notice the message because we kept them in our rooms, only Virat and Rohit had them but we saw the message late." Jinks said courteously just to clarify it so that Sourav doesnt think that they are not punctual or always late. 

"This shouldnt happen again, not for the training sessions and practice atleast." Sourav warned, he is usually not so strict but it was probably the fact that someone was more close to his Mahiya than him that he was no longer family to his Mahiya.

"I assure you that it wont happen again." Virat said with his captain mode on, taking all the responsibility. 

"Good and I called you all here to inform you all that the team then versus team now match is on, I have looked into the arrangements and we can have it even before the Australia series." Sourav said. 

"We need to announce this as well." Sourav added. 

"Mahi bhai will be so happy." Rohit said. 

"Ya in some way because of him all his then team mates will also get a farewell." Shikhar said. 

"And it was our idea so he will be proud of us." Virat said. 

"Yes proud that he was  able to give you a piece of his mind before retiring." Rohit said. 

"I have a piece of Mahi bhai's brain what do you have?" Virat asked.

"Mahi bhai as a whole." Rohit said and the team burst out laughing.

"Attention please."Sourav said. 

"I was thinking of announcing this by an Instagram post on BCCI's official account and it will be like a surprise to the Mahiya and the rest." Sourav said and the team burst out laughing and Sourav narrowed his eyes at them. 

"Mahi bhai can surprise us by posting on instagram not the vice versa." Rahul said. 

"Ya if we post on Instagram we will surprise Sakshi bhabhi not Mahi bhai" Hardik said. 

"Surprising Mahi bhai is a task which doesnt happen for atleast 80 percent of the times." Jassi said and the whole team agreed, it involves a great amount of planning indeed. 

"Then tell me how we can surprise your Mahi bhai? You guys have been spending time with him the most now days anyways." Sourav said, I toh dont know my Mahiya at all, Sourav further added in his mind. He was just annoyyed by how the team according to him pretended to know his Mahiya well whereas it was him that knew his Mahiya the best. 

"No need to surprise him." Kuldeep said and the team agreed.

What do they mean by dont surprise him? I worked so hard on getting the arrangements done just to surprise Mahiya and they are telling dont surprise him?, Sourav thought. 

"Why?" Sourav asked. 

"If we want to see Mahi bhai's live reaction then we dont need to surprise him, we can just video call and inform him, seeing his reaction in the moment is better than hideously surprising him." Ash explained. 

They do know Mahiya, but I am his Dada so I should have thought this, Sourav thought. 

"I agree then, lets do that now itself." Sourav said and the team agreed and Virat sent the meeting code to MSD and got his laptop so everyone could see MSD without jumping on his phone like maniacs. 

"Why did you and Ro fight now Cheeku?" MSD asked as soon as he joined the meeting. 

"Why do you think that only we fight all the time?" Virat whined like a kid. 

"Because no one else sends me back to back messages when they fight to justify themselves first." MSD said showing his phone which had 100 notifications from both Rohit and Virat. 

"We spammed you so you check your phone now and join the meeting and not after ages." Rohit said and well he had a point, because one message wouldnt be enough to gain instant attention from MSD. 

"So tell me whats the problem this time." MSD said. 

I am here, but he is going on talking to the boys, Sourav thought not realizing that Jassi and Kuldeep had sneaked in front of him to come into the camera frame and only less than half of his face was seen.

"Its a good news that Sourav sir, I mean dada will tell you." Virat said and Sourav thought that these boys are not that bad but then he thought that it was his right and duty to inform this since he did the arrangements and he is his Mahiya's Dada so he is the most important and his Mahiya will be the most happy if he tells it. 

"Dada even you are there?" MSD asked. 

"They involved you also in the mess they must have made or what?" MSD asked with concern for Dada because dealing with the team is not an easy task and getting into trouble is common for the team. Whereas Dada wondered why it was always only about the team. 

"They didnt get into any trouble Mahiya, hopefully." Sourav said and MSD sighed with relief. 

"Then what was the need for an urgent meeting?" MSD asked now with his Dada's involvement becoming even more curious. 

"We are arranging a farewell match for you - " Sourav said but MSD interupted almost immediately. 

'If you have even announced it to the media unannounce it, I mean take it back, I wont play any farewell match and thats final." MSD said and Sourav laughed at how he was so stubborn and quickly assumed stuff and he also liked how he was refusing the farewell only for his bros. 

"Okay so we will cancel your farewell, and continue with Yuvi, Sonu, Zak, Irfan, - " Sourav said and MSD stopped him again. 

"You are arranging a farewell for that idiot Yuvi and not me?" MSD asked going to his Dada's kiddo form. 

"I said that I am arranging a farewell for you and the others but you dont want one so I will cut your name from the list." Sourav said to tease MSD. 

"What Dada? Are you serious? I am in, I always was, I never said no for a farewell match which you were so lovingly arranging." MSD said and Sourav laughed, the team was just awe struck about how different  MSD in in front of Sourav. 

"It was our loving idea" Hardik being the attention seeker decided to speak to get credits and praises from their Mahi bhai, not realizing that he broke the moment of brotherhood Sourav and MSD were having, MSD who was used to this surely didnt mind but Sourav kind of did. 

"Your loving idea is a little confusing how are we, in the sense Yuvi, Sonu, Zak ecetera supposed to play an international match after retirement?" MSD asked after a slight thought. 

"Thats the whole point its not an international match, its a then team versus now team match." Jinks sensibly took the silence to explain, knowing that if anyone else explains then they would confuse MSD even more, but he forgot that it was Sourav who was supposed to tell this to MSD. 

"See such a smart idea right?" Virat asked raising the invisible collars of his t shirt. 

MSD was really happy until he heard its team then versus team now.
