♤ Operation Doubles ♤

Matthew thought Taehyung would give him a hug but it seemed unlikely. “Can’t I hold you like I did that night?”

Taehyung shook his head. “I’d rather you not. I’m still mad at you, remember?”

“Damn, I was looking forward to it.” Matthew pouted.

Taehyung rolled his eyes and took Matthew to his bedroom where he set up his playstation. He handed a controller to Matthew. “I want you to play video games with me.”

And just like that they fell back into old habits.

“I don’t have classes tomorrow so you and I should hang out.” Taehyung said later that night as he walked Matthew to the door.

“Breakfast?” Matthew asked with a smile.

Taehyung smiled and nodded. “Breakfast sounds amazing. Let’s go to the cute little diner near your house… I’m assuming you are still living at your family home?”

Matthew scratched the back of his neck and nodded. “I cleaned up the uh~ mess.”

“Let’s leave it there; it’s probably better if I don’t know the details.” Taehyung said and pursed his lips.

“Yeah, that’s fair enough.” Matthew agreed.

“You better go before it gets too late.” Taehyung stated.

Matthew nodded and waved awkwardly since he didn’t think Taehyung would want to hug, he knew the older male was still upset with him.

Matthew ended up walking all the way home. He couldn’t be bothered catching an uber plus the walk helped clear his mind. Once Matthew got home he was in for a shock, in the lounge room were people that look a lot like Eric but not quite fully.

“I-” Matthew frowned. “What the fuck.”

“Oh good, you’re home.” Three said and escorted Matthew into the living room. “Meet your new handlers.”

“Hello, I am Eddie.” One of the Eric lookalikes introduced himself.

Matthew stared at the lookalikes, they were eerily like Eric but had their own characteristics. For example; Eddie had a fairly dark complexion and black hair rather than brown. The other lookalike had a smaller and much rounder face and looked significantly younger than both Eric and Eddie.

“The boss had these created while you were training to help you in your mission. We thought it would be suspicious if Eric were to suddenly pop up so we mixed in some other DNA to make cyborgs that could pass as your younger brothers. This is Eddie and this is Brian.” Three explained. “They will relay any orders from the boss and be our contacts so you don’t have to constantly report.”
