Chapter 5: Two Years Already

I decided to change Nicole's name to Naomi
So I'll change her name in all the previous chapters.  (I decided Naomi would be a better name for this story)

Sorry I didn't post the last two days, I was very busy with my soccer practices, and I have been having a bit of writers block 😅. Keep in mind I'm writing this story with no plan and I'm just going with the flow. This chapter might be a little short, sorry.

Two Years Later:

'Wow two years already huh? Times really goes by quickly doesn't it Ashshiki?'

'It sure does, seems like only yesterday we meet!'

Two years... 2 frickin hard years since I lost my family, 2 years since I killed for the first time, and to be honest I don't regret killing them one bit at all.

I'm 7 years old now, and Ash has always been here for me since we met and I'm thankful for that. Anyway, throughout this long time Ashshiki taught me how to communicate with her through our thoughts, pretty cool huh?! She's also taught me a lot of other cool things too!

'So where are we headed to now Ash?'

'There's a sand village 8 miles ahead, we can go there if you want'

'Ya, that seem fine, let's go there'

'Oh on the way I'll teach about another of your powers. I think your ready for it now'

Ash has been teaching me a ton of new things, she taught me how to use wind style jutsu, water style jutsu, and she taught me how to do taijustsu. And to be honest I'm really good at it if I do say so myself.

'Really something new?! What is it?!?'

'Ya something new, im gonna teach ya how to teleport through shadows!'

'I'll learn how to teleport! That's so- wait did you say teleport... through shadows? Why shadows? Why not just teleport without shadows?' I asked with a confused face

'Yes I said through shadows, the reason is because I'm a shadow cheetah. Which means I can travel through shadows, so it also means you can too since we bonded'

'Oh, ok. I get it! So when are you going to teach me, oh! can you show me?!'

'Ok, pay attention step into or touch a shadow you then have to relax and focus on the shadows around you, and you'll start to feel yourself fade away. Like this'

Ashshiki stepped into a shadow, but as she did she merged into it and disappeared quickly, then she reappeared in the shadow of the tree behind me.

'WOW!!! That's so cool! How far can you teleport? Wait don't answer that yet! It's my turn now!'

'Uhh.. ok. But remember relax and focus'

'Ya, ya. Ok I'm ready!'

I was so excited I jumped in a shadow. I tried to focus, I squeezed my eyes shut and tried to merge with the shadow just like Ash did. But when I opened my eyes I was in the same spot I was I was before.

'Wha- What did I do wrong?!?' I asked Ashshiki with a sweat drop on my head.

'Like I said you have to relax and focus. You were too tense and excited.' Ashshiki explained

'Oh. Ok, ok I think I got it now!'

10 minutes later:

'Ughhhhh!!!!! Why can't I get this!!'

I was starting to get extremely frustrated which is a emotion I hardly ever show. I'm usually and very calm person. But this! Ha! This was starting to tick me off!

'Come on Naomi, just keep trying I believe in you! Why did you think I chose you as a companion? It's because I saw you had potential, you knucklehead!' 

I sighed Ash was right, I can do this!

I stepped into a small bushes shadow as I did I closed my eyes, relaxed and focused, when I did I felt myself merge into the shadow.

When I opened my eyes I was in a pitch black place there was only a little light coming in through these portals, The portals where everywhere, they where on the walls and ceiling.

I saw the portal I had just come through. And when I looked into another one of the portals, I could see Ash through it. I decided I should jump into that one, and when I did I appeared in a tree's shadow behind her

'You did it Naomi!!! And it only took you, 1,2,3,4,5! 5 years! Haha!' Ashshiki joked

I threw a rock at her which her dodged quickly

'Hey! Don't throw rocks at me you crazy kid!'

'Hey I'm not crazy! Your mean!! And it didn't take me 5 years it only took me 15 minutes!' I protested as I tackled her to the ground. Which ended up in us rolling down the hill we were on

'Hey! Get off me! Haha haha' Ash pleaded as she licked my cheek

I rolled off her and looked up at the sky

'What would I do without you Ashshiki? Your my best friend, and the only one I'll ever need and the only one ever I'll trust'

'To be honest I think you would have died, from that mountain lion attack we had a month ago' Ash says

'Your probably right about that, thanks to you I only have a couple of new scars on my arms to add to my collection'

My right arm from my shoulder down to my wrist was full of scars. So I covered my whole right arm and shoulder with white bandages. My left arm only had scars from my elbow all way down, so I covered those up too.

Why? Because the people in the villages always give me weird looks and whispered when they see my scars. And to be honest I don't like the attention at all.

I still had the scar on face I gotten 2 years ago, so I let my hair down to covered it up when I went to any village, any other time I wore my hair in the same two dutch braids. I would also ask Ashshiki to disappear into me when we got to the village. She would just fade into me but still talk to me through our thoughts. I was thankful she could do that because it saves me from the stares and questions the villagers always give me when she was around.

We got up from the ground and began walking towards the sand village, Ashshiki turned small and jumped on my shoulders as I walked.

Anyway that's it guys! I know this chapter was kinda short. I'm stuck in a car on a road trip with my family. I probably won't be able write for the next four days, but don't worry I'll make sure to write a lot when I get back!😋
