"FRANK, WAKE UP!" Jason screamed at the top of his lungs as another great coral was wrenched from the ocean floor and flew to the surface at terrible speed. His pale blond hair was wet from the downpour and swept away by the dead cold wind of the Atlantic.

"What the..." Frank Zhang mumbled dizzily.

Hazel was running toward the two men, relief flooded her face when she saw her husband cough seawater out of his lungs- he was bloodied and battered, but visibly alive. "Thank the gods!" she shouted.

Jason ran to the railings, peering to the raging sea, fifty feet below Argo III. Again, another vicious wave rose, forming an impossibly tall wall. This time, the wave swept dozens of gigantic, humanoid forms he recognized as Tyson and his men. Their shouts of fear and pain are soon too far to be heard. Jason shuddered.

There were only three living mortals who walked in Tartarus and lived to tell the tale- a feat no god or goddess have dared to try. The last and strongest of them are in the center of this hurricane.

Percy Jackson. The Son of Poseidon, the Hero of Olympus... and now, their most terrifying nightmare.

"BRACE FOR IMPACT!" from the control, Leo was struggling to keep the Argo III afloat. If it wasn't for Leo's godly skill and Calypso's magic, Jason suspected that the Argo would have been swept away like the Cyclops army. As it is, they barely managed to fend of the storm.

Jason can only hold to the railing as a silvery, inhuman figure appeared from the surface and pointed a long spear toward them. Kym- the Goddess of Sea Storms and Percy's sister.

That's not good, Jason thought. Acting more with instinct than reason, he jumped off the ship and started conjuring a storm of his own. His storm and Kym's met midway to the ship, and Jason was thrown back to Argo's sails. The attack would've crushed Argo if Jason hadn't stopped it.

From afar, he watched as Kym raised her spear once again...

When Festus the dragon roared out of thin air and blasted her back with a burst of fireball. On his back, Jason saw Piper holding on tight and without hesitation stabbed Kymopoleia with her jagged bronze sword. The storm goddess dispersed into the sea as a small tornado and sea foams, but Piper managed to latch on Festus. Together, they raced back to the sky.

They were hoping that Kym's death could at least reduce the storm's force- and for a moment it did- but even before Piper could reach the relative safety of the ship, a deep shaking roar rose from the depths. The voice was angry, lonely, and mad. It was also echoing heartbreaking sadness.

The wind relented, but the rain is falling harder than ever.

"Oh gods. Percy..." Piper was choked with tears.

"He's there," Frank limped across the deck. "I saw him, in the deepest part of the trench."

"Did he..." Jason asked the question they are too scared to ask.

"No, he didn't. It was Briares, or one of his resurrected brothers..." Frank replied. "But he was carrying it. The Trident."

The Trident is one of the three strongest weapons of Olympus. Held by Poseidon, the Trident's power was strong enough to shake the earth and rule the ocean. It was the very symbol of mastery over the world's oceans, and Poseidon always kept it close.

Until Percy fought him for it a few weeks ago. Their battle wrecked Poseidon's underwater castle and almost caused a tsunami to hit the US East Coast, but in the end Percy emerged victorious. Poseidon disappeared, although the gods are at least certain that Poseidon isn't dead... his disappearance suggests the impossible result: Percy Jackson now holds the power of the ocean in his father's place.

It was impossible, but then again... Jason thought again about the day they lost Annabeth.

The only person that could stop the strongest demigod is now gone forever.

Annabeth...

Her death was a crushing blow to all of them. They were family, as close as they could be. Athena's daughter was a leader, a sister, and a dear friend for all of them... but for Percy, she was something else. She was his wole world.

And she's not just dead. There are ways to bring someone back from the dead- they all knew it. She's gone. Her very existence was lost in her attempt to stop Tartarus from waking again.

Percy killed Tartarus to avenge Annabeth, alone.

And now, he's going to murder Hades to find her non-existent soul.

"Guys, Percy's done. The hole to the Underworld will be opened in an hour," Leo called them with a tired voice. "It's up to us to end this."
