Damian Wayne was never one to make friends. The youngest of four brothers and blood son to Bruce Wayne always kept to himself. Sure, he had a few acquaintances, mostly due to them being associated with Wayne Enterprises in some way, but he never did go out of his way to make friends at school or anywhere else for the matter. Friends, he thought, were only a distraction and a liability.

Well, that was all until he met (Y/N) (L/N) during his sophomore year at Gotham Academy. The young girl was new to the school and the city and sat perched on her desk just beside his own. At first, the boy didn't pay much mind to her because she was everything he wasn't. The girl seemed to be able to talk to anyone and had made a few friends quite easily, she was loud too-- almost obnoxiously so-- always cracking jokes to gain a few giggles from the people in their class. Damian went out of his way to avoid her, ignoring her whenever she spoke to him in class or anywhere on campus, for the matter. The girl, being the curious person she was, was instantly intrigued by him.

Sure, she had met a lot of people like him; rich, arrogant, and quiet, but something about Damian instantly drew her to him. She wasn't sure if it was his pretty green eyes or his cute dimples, but she stopped at nothing until he finally payed attention to her.

"I am trying to study, (L/N)," The boy grumbled, hand tightening on the yellow highlighter in his hand.  (Y/N) simply smiled, setting down her things across from him on the table in the quiet library.

"I know you are, Wayne," She said, flipping through her notebook to find the lesson they had been working on that day. "I'm here to keep you company. Looks like you need it."

Damian rolled his eyes, peeking up at the girl who quickly looked away when she realized he'd caught her staring, "Why do you insist on pestering me so much, (L/N)?"

"I want to be your friend."

In the few months following the two became closer and Damian realized they had quite a bit in common. In wasn't long before he admitted he had feelings for her that stemmed farther than just a simple friendship. (Y/N) too admitted that she liked Damian-- hell, she loved him. Everything about him brought a smile to her face. Sure, he could be a bit arrogant at times and more of a cup half empty type of guy, but with her, he couldn't seem to keep a small smile off of his face.

They began dating a month or two after that fateful day at the library, with (Y/N) being the one to make the first move and inviting him to the movies. A few weeks into the relationship (Y/N) figured out that her boyfriend and best friend was Robin when the boy stumbled into her room in full gear with a bloody forehead on a stormy night. He'd somehow gotten seperated from Batman and figured her home was closer than the manor. (Y/N) was surprised at the sudden revelation but promised to keep his secret as she patched him up and into a dry change of clothes. Damian knew she would. It wasn't long before she realized that if Damian was Robin then that meant Bruce was Batman. Even then, she said nothing-- it wasn't her secret to tell.
