It was about 10 years ago when it happened. Me and my mom were laying on the couch watching TV٫ I was laying on her big pregnant belly as she gently played with my hair. My father was in the kitchen making dinner for us٫ he wasn't the best at cooking he was actually a terrible cook but tonight we decided to let him take care of dinner since he was so confident in this specific meal٫
Only half way through the meal things started to go down south٫ my mom wanted to help but he kept insisting so she stayed away٫ but that was when the fire began. It happened so fast and so unexpectedly٫ dad was panicking trying to stop the fire with something that was closest to him then mom shoved him away and tried to use water but due to all the smoke she couldn't see and ended up slipping and hitting her head extremely hard on the floor.
I started panicking and ran out the door right after seeing my mom on the floor٫ they've always told me not to come up to them during this situation as I could get hurt and instead grab the phone run out and call 911٫ every time they'd say "we'll be out with you٫ take care of yourself " but I knew they wouldn't make it. I dialed the emergency number and tried to tell them everything but I ened up crying and panicking as the sudden realization that my mommy and daddy wouldn't be able to make it had struck me and I passed out.
A little while later I woke up and realized I was in the hospital covered in bandages٫ confused I asked why I was covered up and the nurse said it was because I was right on the front porch when I had passed out and the flames then grew bigger and had gotten to me٫ luckily the fire department had gotten there just on time before I could be burnt to crisps.
I asked about my parents which lead to me becoming a waterfall٫ the nurse had told me that my mom had died due to the fall and fire and my dad had died twenty minutes before I woke up٫ the smoke in his lungs had caused him to stop breathing.
After two weeks of healing from burns I was finally able to go home٫ well with someone else. Due to the fact I had no family members left that'd take care of me I had to go to a foster home and let me tell you٫ living there for two years was hell for me. But eventually some nice looking people came and adopted me and now I live with them.
