It's been six years since the horrible tragedy that gripped Fortuna Institute. Reporters flocked the academy after parents of the victims called in, worried by the fact that their children were not responding to their calls. And even worse, when they angrily tried to squeeze an answer out of the headmaster, he was discovered dead, supposedly poisoned by a maid who had a long-term grudge against the man for stripping her husband of his job and ruining her family.
That only left the eldest Knight son in charge, but he's taken over a crumbled kingdom under siege by the flames of rebellion. The son knew this had to be the work of his youngest brother, part of the boy's schemes to ruin his father and brothers, but he had no evidence. And he knew he could no nothing even if he did. He could not hope to outsmart his youngest brother who had all the right people firmly in his pocket.
As for a certain (h/c)-haired heroine? Let's see if she's fared any better.
Should she be fortunate to be alive, or should she have wished to be dead?

"Mommy, look! I drew this for you!"
A four-year-old black-haired girl bounced down the stairs of their family house towards the living room where her mother was. A bright smile spread from ear to ear, radiating nothing but pure, innocent, childish joy. In her hands was a piece of paper the girl took care as to not wrinkle. She hopped down the last step of the stairs and ran towards her mother.
She placed it on the woman's lap and was basically bouncing in her excitement. She patted the piece of paper and looked up at her mother eagerly. "Do you like it? I drew our family! Here, look!" The girl pointed to a crudely drawn figure of a smiling girl holding hands with two taller figures. "That's me, that's you, and that's daddy! Do you like it? I spent a reallyyy long time making it, you know!"
The (h/c)-haired woman couldn't help but smile at her daughter's antics, even if the smile was a sad one. She placed a hand on her daughter's head and ruffled her hair affectionately. With her other hand, she gingerly picked up the drawing. A pang of pain mixed with anger and resentment went through her when her eyes landed on the image of a man with a mess of black hair and silver eyes. Her hand tightened around the piece of paper and she felt herself begin to tremble.
The little girl tilted her head, her smile dropping when she saw the strange look on her mother's face. "Mommy...? Are you and daddy fighting again?"
(Y/n)'s head snapped up, her eyes widening at the sad tone in her daughter's voice. As much as she despised the man that fathered her child, she could never hate her daughter who did nothing wrong. She plastered a fake smile across her face. She's done this so many times she's long lost count.
"No, we're not," she assured the girl. "So don't worry about anything, pumpkin, alright?"
The child's face blossomed back into a smile and she nodded. "Okay!"
"As for this picture..." (Y/n) rose to her feet and inclined her head towards the kitchen. "Let's hang it on the refrigerator, okay? It's quite lovely. Your f-father would love to see it."
"Okay...but why can't we put it on the wall?" The girl gestured towards the austere walls of the living room. "I really wanted to d-d-decorate this room so I made it. Am I not allowed to?"
