“What do we do now?”
Yoongi shrugged his shoulders, though with how dark it was, you couldn’t see.
“Did you bring a flashlight?”
You heard Yoongi patting his body and rummaging through backpack in search of the wanted object. The sound of his rustling quietly echoed in the empty space. Like Deja Vu, a bright LED light was shone in your eyes. You quickly jerked back.
You grumbled as you rubbed your eyes, trying to gain your vision back again. The lighter spots in your eyes danced around your vision until you could see properly.
“Watch where you’re pointing that thing,” you growled.
Yoongi swung the light around the area. Torn posters, garbage, and rotten food littered the station. Some of the tiles and panels on the walls had fallen out of place, lying broken on the cracked linoleum. It was an eerie sight. You remember taking the subway every once in a while for a series of things. The stations were always bustling with people. But now, it layed dead silent—just like everything else in the country.
“Which way should we go?” You called out.
He pointed the light to the signs that guided the passengers to their destination. They weren’t in perfect condition, but you were still able to make out what they said.
“Towards Chilseong Market. We were closer to Daegu station in the building.”
You nodded your head and turned in the direction Yoongi said. When you reached the edge of the platform, Yoongi hopped down first. He quickly stumbled over the rails to stand in front of you. He set down the flashlight, turning the light towards him for the both of you to see. He held out a hand for you to take.
“I can get down myself ya know.”
“Just let me help.” Yoongi rolled his eyes at your protest.
You sighed. Yoongi held his hands out to grab your waist. You reached for his shoulders, grasping tightly as he picked you up from the edge. You squealed lightly only to quickly shut your mouth when it echoed along the tunnel walls. Yoongi smiled at you, trying hard not to laugh.
Your feet didn’t completely land on the tracks, making you slip back towards the platform. Yoongi hugged you close to his body. One hand stayed wrapped around your waist while the other held the back of your head, careful to keep it from hitting the hard edge of the concrete slab behind you. Although the light was dim at the angle he caught you at, you could see his eyes gazing across your face, stopping every once in a while to take in your features.
“Uh… Thanks.”
Yoongi cleared his throat. He nodded in response as he set you upright again.
“Yeah. We, uh, we should probably go. It’ll take us a while to get out of here.”
He quickly snatched the flashlight from the platform and whipped around to start walking in the direction you needed to go. You furrowed your eyebrows. Thinking nothing of his actions, you shrugged your shoulders, rushing to catch up to him.

They turned down another street. These biters were relentless. The cold weather only seemed to aggravate them more than before.
Jimin scanned the road before yanking Hoseok and Namjoon’s arms to the side, throwing off their forward momentum. They tripped over their feet as Jimin managed to drag them into the nearest alleyway. Namjoon was quick to crumple to the ground with laboured breaths. He laid on his back, trying to get the air back into his lungs. Hoseok leaned against the brick wall Jimin practically threw him against. He let his head raise as he breathed in the frozen air. His chest burned as he gulped as much air as he could. Jimin, although panting similar to a dog on a hot day, watched the main street with baited breath. He hoped that they were far enough away from the biters that they didn’t notice where the three of them split off to.
